On the fixture card for the Sheldon and District Summer League were the quarter-finals of their League Cup and in the all group one clash Highwood just got the 4-3 edge on Trident Spears. Two table-toppers squared up to each other, group one leaders Raven Arrows taking on group four’s top team Maggies, the difference in group’s showing as Raven Arrows handed out a 7-0 whitewash to their opponents with Alan Mayell chalking up a maximum for Raven. Group two team RAFA, lost 4-3 to CBMC-A, who play in group four, while another group four team, Station Inn lost 5-2 to Langley Flights from group three.

There were just two rearranged league fixtures played which saw group three’s bottom team, Hunters Moon take on next to bottom of the table Moseley Rugby Club, Hunters Moon recording their first win in seven when they won 5-3 to draw level on four points with their opponents but they stay bottom of the table on average. The other game played was in group five, fourth placed Weir Raven hosting second in the group Castle Bromwich Spitfires, the Spitfires winning 6-2, the result not changing either of their places in the table.

The Conservative Club won 7-2 at Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club, there was no result for Northfield Darts Club.

With all of the domestic fixtures in division one of the Sutton and District League all done and dusted, division two games carry on as they have two more teams than the first division. Game twenty-four saw the top four teams hold on to their places, leaders Great Barr Social winning 7-2 at Plough and Arrows to put them on forty-two points with a narrow one leg of average lead on second placed Rise Club, who also won 7-2 Hollyfields. Pint pot Flights are third in the league, they are on thirty-eight points following their 6-3 home win over Sutton Sharks, which keeps them six points to the good on fourth placed Plough and Arrows.

Sutton Sharks top the division two Shadow League with twelve points, Rosey Mac’s Bar second with ten points. Third placed Minworth Bulls are still in the race as they are only three points off the top with nine points however they do trail heavily on average.

No change in the top four places in the division one of the South West Birmingham Clubs League, leaders Stirchley United adding a 5-2 home win over Quarry Lane Club to give them fourteen points from their eight games, they have opened up a two point’s lead over second placed Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club after they suffered a 5-2 home defeat to West Heath CEM, who are fourth in the division with ten points, the same number as third placed Northfield Darts Club, who had a narrow 4-3 win away to bottom placed Bournebrook who after the opening eight games are still seeking their first win, after losing six of the eight games by a very close 4-3.

With E57 having the second division fixture with Longbridge Warriors postponed, they were ousted off the number one spot by Northfield Conservative Club ‘A’ whose 6-1 home win over Bartley Green FC took them to the same twelve points as second placed E57 but with a superior average. Third and fourth in the division, Kings Norton Arrows and Cue Club are both on eight points but with two games in hand on the current leaders. Kings Norton Arrows having a 4-3 win at Cue Club.

In the division one pre-match doubles Northfield Darts Club lead the way with eighty-nine pointsand a two points lead on their nearest rivals Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club. After the top twothere is a twelve point’s gap to third placed Bournbrook who have seventy-five points.

E57 top the division two pre-match doubles table, but second placed Bartley Green FC are on the same sixty-nine points, the top two side having a lead of three points on third placed Northfield Conservative Club ‘A’.

The Black Country Men’s Super League have got their new season underway and with a 5-2 win over Black Country Arrows Allen’s followed by a 4-1 success over Soccer Zone, Hot Shots top the table with thirteen points, closely followed by Allen’s Bar who in their two opening games beat Townsend ‘A’ and Samba Darts Academy ‘B’ 4-1 to give them twelve points. Samba Darts Academy ‘A’ are third, they also have twelve points after their wins over Black Country Arrows Samba and Black Country Arrows Allen’s, both 4-1 results. Other teams with a 100% win record so far are, Townsend Social, Cue and Brew, Northfield Darts Club, New Inn and Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club, who have only played one game.

The Stourbridge and District Monday Night League played their Doubles Knockout down to the last eight pairs and making their way into the quarter-finals to be played at Old Liberal Club on the 2nd November were, K.Safe & L.Marson, A.Marson & G.Marson (Gornal British Legion), S.Tipper & J.Batham, C.Hart & S.Hall (Old Liberal Club), J.Gaskin & N.Gordon (Seven Stars), B.Watts & C.Plant (Five Ways), A.Batham & C.Moreton (Cross), A.Purchase & L.Cartwright (Netherton Conservative Club ‘A’),

Old Liberal Club made it nineteen wins in as many games when they won their home tie with fifth placed Bird in Hand 5-2, however despite their 100% win record, second placed Gornal British Legion are only two points behind them after adding on their latest win, a 7-0 whitewash over their hosts Samson and Lion. Both of the top two teams have played nineteen games but third in the league Cross have only played eighteen and their 6-1 win at Netherton Conservative Club ‘B’ has left them within eight points of Old Liberal Club and six fewer than Gornal British Legion. Fourth and fifth placed Five Ways and Bird in Hand, have both played nineteen games and are on the same thirty points as Cross.

C.Moreton (Cross) had a 160 break.

There was just the one rearranged fixture played in the Netherton Thursday Night 501 League, leaders Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’ travelling to take on Netherton Sports and Social Club. The result was an 8-1 win for the Ex Serviceman’s Club, making it twenty undefeated games with a nine points advantage over second placed Ashwood. Netherton Sports and Social Club remain tenth in the league.

It’s week six in the Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League and not one of the twenty-one teams are able to boast an undefeated record. Leaders Raven have lost one game but won their latest home match with Railway Inn 5-2 to keep them top of the table with ten points and a lead of two legs over second placed Swan who also made it four wins in five when they won by the same 5-2 margin at home against Hollybush. Third placed Beech Tree Miners made it ten points for the top three teams with a 7-0home success over Stourbridge FC ‘B’. After the top three teams there are seveen teams all on eight points, just two behind the top trio and they are, Chop House, Bird in Hand ‘E’, Fox Inn (Lye), Plough, Old Liberal Club ‘A’, Stourbridge FC ‘A’ and Ashwood..

The Bell kept their undefeated run intact in division one of the Rowley Monday Night league, making it fifteen straight wins when they won 5-4 at Wonder, the win taking their points tally to thirty, two more than second placed Gate Hangs Well after they won their sixteenth game, 6-3 at Wheatsheaf. After Gate Hangs Well there is a ten point’s gap to third placed Tividale FC who lost ground, going down 6-3 at Albion although their J.Tart scored a maximum. There was also a 180 for L.Bunce (Bostin Darts ‘A’) in their 5-4 home win over Whiteheath Tavern.

Bostin Darts ‘B’ remain top of division two, a 5-4 win at Double Tops Micro Bar taking their number of points to thirty with an eight points lead on their second placed opponents.

Reigning champion of the Amblecote RBL Premier League, Jason Lowe, is moving towards retaining his title as he currently tops the table with 311 points from forty-five games and has a lead of fifty points over second placed Ian Townsend, who has 261 points from forty-four games. A former champion, Nick Fullwell, is third, he has amassed 257 points from forty-three games. Paul Wells is a man to look out for, lying fifth in the table with 218 points but he has at least seven games in hand on all of the players above him.

Scott Baker is back where he finished last season in division one of the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night Singles League, top of the table.. An 8-0 win over Allan Davies has seen Baker go to the top of the table with 165 points from nineteen games giving him a five point’s lead over Simon Pritchard who had held the number one spot for the majority of the season and has played twenty-four games.

In division two, after an 8-0 win over Lawley Daniel, Matt Ford leads the field, his 178 points from twenty-four games giving him a five points advantage over second placed Wayne Barratt who has played twenty-three games.

The Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League staged the finals of the Averages Knockout which included a total of twenty-nine players. Making their exit in the quarter-finals were Paul Price (Junction ‘B’), Mikey L. Harris (Junction ‘A’),Wayne Reed (Wheatsheaf) and Jason Lucas (Milestone). Just missing out on a final appearance were, Dean Simmons-Fullwood (Junction ‘B’),and Jon Blakemore (Gilbert’s Bar ‘A’) who both lost in the semi-finals.

After an high quality of darts play throughout the evening, Golden Lion ‘B’ man Marx Williams topped off a superb personal night when he beat Paul Harrison from Golden Lion ‘A’ 3-0, Williams not dropping a single leg throughout the night.
