Warwickshire County Darts Organisation have not lost their opening two consecutive fixtures since the 2019-2020 season in what was then the BDO Inter County Darts Championship, they then lost the opener 23-13 at home to Yorkshire and followed that with  a similar 23-13 defeat at Cornwall. Unfortunately history has repeated itself this campaign as they lost the first two games of the season in what is now the Cosmo Darts Premier Division of the UKDA National League. After losing 20-16 away to Cornwall, Warwickshire then went down in their latest second fixture 23-13 at home to Lancashire.

It was basically a weekend to forget with the ladies ‘B’ losing 5-1 and the men’s ‘B’ going down 8-4, Chloe McKivett-Saunders the sole winner for the ladies and taking the match award for her 21.31 average while collecting the men’s award was Will Naylor who had a 26.45 average.

The ladies ‘A’ were the only team to get anything out of the weekend as they finished all-square at three each with Natalie Gilbert their lady of the match, she had a superb 26.62 average as she came from 2-0 down against Jo Clements to go on and win 3-2 in 18, 15 and 22 darts. The men’s ‘A’ lost 7-5 after opening up a 5-3 lead. Noel Grant was in top form beating Nathan Care with a straight 4-0 result in which he checked out on 160 in the fourth leg giving him a tremendous 31.31 average.

The overall 23-13 defeat left Warwickshire languishing sixth in the division on twenty-nine points already after only two of the scheduled ten games have been played some twenty-five short of their top of the table opponents, however things can now hopefully only get better.
