After completing sixty of his scheduled sixty-two fixtures, in the Heartlands Sugardarts M&E Co Double Top League, Matthew Cain had only lost three games, but his final two fixtures saw him lose both. Cain opened the evening with a 2-1defeat to Ramone Stevens despite hitting a maximum, he then lost by the same margin to second placed Martin Cooper, to see him finish the campaign on 157 points, which is enough to pronounce him champion as Cooper has only one remaining fixture and is eleven points adrift on 146 points, which is again enough to see him finish as runner-up. John Frost is currently third on 128 points but he could end the season fourth as Steve Cain, who is currently fourth, has three games to play and with only one point fewer than Frost could overtake him and take the number three spot.
