With games now fast running out in the Sheldon and District Summer League, there has been a change at the top of group one, former leaders Raven Arrows had a bye this week, and a 6-2 win at Trident Spears has seen Langley Arrows move up one place to replace them at the top of the group with eleven points from six games, Raven Arrows dropping to second place with ten points plus a game in hand. Third placed Highwood had a 5-3 win at Dog Inn Nomads but trail the leaders by five points.

The top two teams remain the same in group two, Kingshurst Labour Club, despite being held to a 4-4 home draw by Smithswood Social Club hold on to pole position with twelve points, one more than second placed Sheldon Marlborough Ridge who won 7-1 at home against Family Tree, the see’s Family Tree drop to next to bottom of the group with Smithswood moving up into third place with six points, the same number as fourth and fifth placed RAFA Arrows and Family Tree.
With a maximum from Craig Stansfield, Lyndon Old Boys had a 5-3 home win over Arran Way Arrows to stay top of group three with twelve points, Langley Flights not only lost by the same 5-3 margin at home against Moseley Rugby Club but also lost second place and dropped to third on eight points. Replacing Langley Fligts in second place is Raven whose 5-3 home win over Hunters Moon left them two points short of the leaders, Raven do have a game in hand on the two teams above them.

A 4-4 home draw with Station Inn has seen Maggies ousted from the number one spot in group four and drop to second place, one point short of the new leaders Langley Pints after they won 6-2 at home against CBMC-A.
Another team to lose their top spot after finishing with a 4-4 draw are Yardley District Amateur Darts Team who played at home against Weir Raven. Castle Bromwich Spitfires take over at the top of group five. Their 7-1 home win over Langley Bullets giving them a total of thirteen points, one more than second placed Yardley

It’s close at the top of the Harborne and District League, with some teams now having just four more games to play, there are three teams at the top of the league all on forty-four points. Copper Fox ‘R’ are top on average plus they have a game in hand on second placed Northfield Darts Club and two in hand on third placed Northfield Conservative Club. Northfield Darts Club kept the pressure on the leaders with an 8-1 win at Weoley Castle WMC while third placed Northfield Conservative Club had a 6-3 home win over Smethwick Cricket Club who are fourth in the league and now two points adrift of the three teams above them.
The league produced seven maximums this week and they came from, C.Fowler (Copper Fox ‘M’), J.Best (Weoley Castle Pub), G.Bailes (Bourneville), G.Bolton (Stag and Three Horseshoes), T.Shipley (Northfield Conservative Club), F.Johnson (Smethwick Cricket Club) and R.Crawford (Crown).

With just one more game to play to complete the division two fixtures in the Sutton and District League, the title is still up for grabs as the two leading teams Great Barr Social and Rise Club, are both locked together on forty-four points with the former having the superior average. The penultimate fixtures saw Great Barr Social win 6-3 at St Thomas Arrows and Rise Club win 7-2 at Beggars Bush B.Hewson (Minworth Bulls) found the three treble twenties in his teams 6-3 win at Deer’s Leap while D.Ruthedge (Pint Pot Flights) had a 160 break as his side won by the same 6-3 margin at home against Rosey Mac’s Bar.
With one game to go Sutton Sharks have won the Shadow League, their fourteen points are three more than their nearest rivals Minworth Bulls.

On the fixture card for the South West Birmingham Clubs League, were the Divisional Cup finals, in the division one game Stirchley United beat Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club 15-6 while the division two title went to Cue Club, who had a 12-9 win over Kings Norton Arrows, not a good night for Kings Norton!!
There were two rearranged fixtures played in division two which saw Bartley Green FC win 6-1 against Longbridge Arrows and E57, with a 180 from A.Reynolds, win 6-1 against Longbridge Warriors, neither was a good night for Longbridge!!.

Current leader of the Heartlands Sugardarts M&E Co Double Top League, Steve Cain didn’t play in the latest round of fixtures, bur nevertheless he remains top of the table with 133 points from sixty-one games and has a lead of two points over second placed Matthew Cain who has only played fifty games after adding on his latest results, a 3-0 win over Ryan Cain followed by a similar 3-0 win against Logan Swords. A further nine points behind with 122 points, is third placed Martin Cooper, who on the night beat Steve McCormack and Ryan Barritt 3-0.

The Camp Hill League have got their new season underway and the early pacesetters are, Big Bulls Wanderers, GGSB and Wakefield Warriors who in turn had 7-0 win over Bull Ring Tavern, Sedgemere Devils and Shannons Rebels. Cotterills Lane EBAHA Club were close behind with their 6-1 home success against Rosey Mac’s.

The Netherton Thursday Night 501 League had the second leg of the semi-finals of their Andy Bastable Trophy on their fixture card. With a 9-0 result and huge 17-1 aggregate, Bulls Head accounted for Rose and Crown (Halesowen) while Ashwood had a a closer 11-7 aggregate as they won their second leg against Furnace 6-3 with Joe Poole notching a maximum for Ashwood and Connor Allen doing the same for Furnace.
The final will take place on the 15th October.

It was cup semi-finals week in the Rowley Monday Night League and although there was a maximum for L.Dabbs and a 160 break for C.Dabbs, their team, Bell, somewhat surprisingly lost 6-3 to Gate Hangs Well. The other last four game saw Romsley Cricket Club beat Bostin Darts ‘B’ 5-3.
In the last four games for the Plate, Hawthorns Tavern, with scores of 170 and 180 from M.Archer won 5-0 against Rowley Labour Club. Meeting Hawthorns in the final will be Double Tops Micro Bar after they won 7-2 against Coombes Wood.

With half of the season completed in the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League, leaders Old Liberal Club made it played twenty, won twenty when they won 6-1 at Netherton Conservative Club ‘A’. Although such a fine record the Liberal Club only have a two points lead on second placed Gornal British Legion whose latest fixture saw them win 6-1 at home against the Swan. After the top two come three teams all on thirty-two points, eight off the top, Cross, who have only played nineteen games, won 7-0 in their home tie with Glasscutters Arms ‘A’, Five Ways who with a 160 break from R.Jones, won 6-1 at Mount Pleasant ‘B’ and Bird in Hand, they had a narrow 4-3 win at home against Netherton Conservative Club ‘B’.

The Silver End Sunday Morning League are up to their eleventh game although the vast majority of teams have not played that many fixtures. Top of the tale with thirty-one points from eleven games is High Acres ‘A’ but hot on their heels are second placed Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘B’ who are just one point short of the leaders with a game in hand, they have won all ten of their fixtures so far. High Acres ‘A’ had a 5-3 win at Tenth Lock while Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘B’ handed out an 8-0 whitewash to their visitors Portway. Third in the league, Old Star ‘A’ are a further five points adrift after their latest 6-2 win at Glasscutters Arms. Bottom of the table Red Cow, are still seeking their first points of the season after playing ten games.

Week seven of the Stourbridge and District Wednesday Night League, and only two points separate the top eight teams. A 7-0 win at Stourbridge FC ‘B’ puts Raven top of the table with twelve points from seven games, two points behind them, from the same seven games is Chop House who won their home tie with Beech Tree Miners 5-2. Third placed Old Liberal Club ‘A’ had a 6-1 home win over Swan and have only played six games while Beech Tree Miners, Bird in Hand ‘E’ and Swan are all on ten points but from seven games. Seventh and eighth placed Stourbridge FC’A’ and Ashwood have both played six games, the former having a 4-3 win at Hot Shots and the latter won 7-0 at Wheatsheaf.

It’s week three in the Black Country Men’s Super League and Hot Shots lead the way at the top of the table with twenty points, their most recent win being 5-0 at home against Old Crown. Second placed Cue and Brew, like the leaders have played and won three games, and their latest saw them also win 5–0 at home against Northfield Darts Club to put them on eighteen points. Third placed Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club have only played two games and won both of them, their 4-1 home against New Inn giving them a total of thirteen points.

The West Midlands Ladies Super League has got their new season underway and half of the twenty starters are all on four points, they are Evonne Taylor, Jackie Trott, Kelly Aston-Fletcher, Gemma Barrett, Hannah Davies, Kerry Dutton, Shellbie Guest, Sarah Baker, Jacqueline Maiden and Claire Hobbs.

There were 5-0 wins for the top two teams in the West Midlands Men’s Super League this week, leaders Staffordshire Knot played at home against Gilbert’s Bar ‘B’ and took their points tally to 150 from twenty-seven games and second placed Kings Head, who also played at home, beat Junction ‘B’ to give them a total of 133 points from twenty-six games. Third placed Dog and Partridge lost ground in the title race as they went down 3-2 at Junction ‘A’, they are on 115 points from twenty-six games.

The Amblecote RBL Premier League played off their Blind Cup Doubles which initially was split into two halves ‘A’ and ‘B’. The last two pairs in group ‘A’ were Jason Lowe and Dave Edwards, plus Chris Pickett and Paul Wells. The play-off to reach the final saw Lowe and Edwards win 3-0. The final game for group ‘B’ saw Caden Marsh and Nick Fullwell also win 3-0 against Martyn Harper and Andy Vellender.
The final then went the full seven legs distance, Jason Lowe and Dave Edwards the 4-3 winners with Caden Marsh and Nick Fullwell the runners-up.

The Wolverhampton Tuesday Night Darts League, played off their Captains and Secretaries Knockout with the title going to Dean Simmons-Fullwood and Paul Simmons (Junction ‘B’) who defeated Reece Cook Lucas and Jamie Webb (Gilbert’s Bar ‘A’) in the final.
