Warwickshire County Darts Organisation will be playing their seventh of a scheduled ten fixtures in the Cosmo Darts Premier Division of the UKDA National League this coming weekend and will be hoping to make it four consecutive wins, however they face a tough test as they travel to the Glasshoughton Sports and Social Club, 152 Leeds Rd, Glasshoughton, Castleford WF10 4PD where they will take on Yorkshire who are currently second in the division with 150 points, twenty-eight to the good on Warwickshire who are placed fourth.

This coming weekend in the Andy Wheeler Fisheries Championship Division of the UKDA National League West Midlands have the opportunity to pull further away from the relegation zone as they travel to take on Oxfordshire at the local Bicester Ex-Servicemen’s Club, 67 Sheep Street, Bicester, Oxford, Oxfordshire OX26 6JW. Going into the fixture West Midlands are two places off the foot of the table with 104 points from six games while their hosts are next to bottom of the table with ninety points from five games and with the home side having played one game fewer than the West Midlands it really is a must-win game for the visitors.

In the L-Style Division One of the UKDA National League Black Country have the opportunity to climb back up the table as they take on Somerset in what is their seventh game of the season. Currently lying sixth in the division with 127 points from six games Black Country are just above their seventh placed opponents who are on 113 points from seven games, so a decent win could see them possibly move up into the top three places as third placed Berkshire are only nine points ahead of them and have played one game more than them.

A 6-3 home win over Raven Arrows has secured the Premier League title for Langley Arrows in the Sheldon and District Winter League as with one more game to play they have amassed a total of thirty points and have a lead of six over second placed Sheldon Marlborough Arrows who with two more games to play will finish as runners-up as third in the division Raven Arrows despite still having three games remaining are ten points short of Sheldon Marlborough Arrows. In their latest fixtures Sheldon Marlborough Arrows won 5-4 at home against The Dingle.

The division one title could go to either of the top two teams as current leaders Brian’s Flights added a 5-4 win at Kingshurst Labour Club to their account to put them on twenty-eight points from fifteen games and second placed Willclare Sports and Social after winning 6-3 at Hollywood Social Club are two points behind the leaders, Brian’s Flights have three more games to play and Willclare have two. Third in the division Trident Spears lost 6-3 at home to Bell Inn whose Chris Shipman hit a 180, they have two more fixtures to play but are eight points short of Brian’s Flights.

Just three legs of average separate the top two teams in division two, Hornet had a bye this week and as a result drop from pole position to second with Sheldon Marlborough Ridge, after winning 7-2 at Castle Bromwich WMC, replacing them at the top of the table, With two more fixtures to play both teams are on twelve points and have a four points advantage over third placed Sheldon Marlborough Flights who won 8-1 at Raven..

Northfield Conservative Club took their unbeaten run in the Harborne and District League to nine games when they won 8-1 at Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club, keeping intact their two points lead on their nearest rivals Copper Fox ‘R who had a closer 5-4 home win over fifth placed Cock Inn. A further two points adrift with fourteen points is third placed Copper Fox ‘M’ who handed their hosts, bottom of the table Windsor a 9-0 whitewash to leave the home side without a win in their opening nine games.

A surprisingly close 4-3 home win over Kings Norton Flights, who are just three places off the foot of the table, keeps Northfield in pole position in the Kings Norton League with a two points lead on second placed Copper Fox who still have a game in hand after their latest 7-0 win at Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club. Thurlestone’s 4-3 home win over Rubery Social Club leaves them two points behind Copper Fox but from one game more and two points to the good on the chasing pack of Bournebrook, Coppice and Stirchleu who are all on fourteen points.

Just the two maximums this week and they came from E.Simpson (Copper Fox) and L.Garghan (Coppice).

At the halfway stage of the Four Oaks and District League’s season Bishop Vesey top the division one table with a perfect twelve points from their six games, Vesey’s latest win was 6-3 away to The Nomads which keeps them two points clear of second placed Beehive who had a bye this week. Third placed Highcroft Hotdogs won 7-2 at home against bottom of the division Beggars Bush and although they are four points behind Beehive and six short of Bishop Vesey they have a game in hand on both teams.

Amazingly there are just three legs of average difference between the top three teams in division two, all of them on ten points from seven games. After an 8-1 win at Charley’s Flights Heartlands top the table, two legs to the good on second placed Walmley CSC Flights who suffered a setback to their title aspirations as they went down 5-4 at The Rise Club. One leg short of Walmley is Red Lion who finished on the right side of a 5-4 result at Erdington Arrows.

Division three leaders Pint Pot Flights are the only other team apart from Bishop Vesey with a 100% win record, their convincing 9-0 win against Sutton Sports keeping them two points ahead of second placed St Thomas Arrows who were 5-4 winners against Deer’s Leap.

Finding the three treble twenties this week were William Cadby (Charley’s Flights) and Steven Cain (Heartlands), N.Smallwood (Bishop Vesey) and T.Vickers (Red Lion) both had a 160 break.

The Camp Hill League have got their new season underway and the early pacesetters after the first two fixtures are Tyseley Bears who beat Roost 4-3 and Sedgemwere Devils 6-1. Game fifteen in the South West Birmingham Clubs League brought together the league’s top two teams with leaders Longbridge United hosting second placed West Heath CEM. The outcome was a 4-4 draw to leave the situation as before with Longbridge on twenty-seven points five more than their opponents. Third placed Northfield Town won 5-3 against Quarry Club to give them nineteen points.

West Heath CEM top the pre-match doubles division with 168 points, eight more than second placed Northfield Town who are on 160 points.

No fewer than six players scored a 180 this week T.Shipley and K.Webb (Longbridge United), O.Draper (Perfection), L.Jevons and J.Cutler (Northfield Town) and N.Harris (Northfield Conservative Club ‘B’), J.Awome (Northfield Conservative Club ‘A’) had a 160 break.

With Bulls Head having their fixture with league leaders Old Liberal Club postponed in the Netherton Thursday Night League they had to surrender their second spot to Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’ whose 6-3 home win over Old Glasshouse took their points tally to twenty-six, the same number as Old Liberal Club who now have a game in hand. Bulls Head are two points behind Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’ also with a game in hand.

Top score of 180 was achieved this week by J.Southall and R.Hodgetts (Plough and Harrow) plus W.Peters (Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’).

Dudley Sports ‘A’ continued their fine start to the new campaign in the Silver End Sunday Morning League making it seven straight wins when they handed out an 8-0 whitewash to their visiting team High Acres ‘C’ to keep them top of the table with a three points advantage over second placed Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club who were not far behind with their 7-1 home win over Rose and Crown. Third in the league Church Tavern had a 5-3 home win over High Acres ‘A’ to leave them four points off the top but fifth in the table Tenth Lock despite being five points off the top of the table had a bye this week and now have a game in hand.

The Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League staged the semi-finals of their Black Country Windscreens Shield which produced shocks for the league’s top two teams. Vine ‘A’ are currently top of the league and have won all seven of their fixtures but in the knockout they lost out 7-0 to third placed veterans Three Horseshoes. Second in the league Allen’s Bar went out to Tamebridge who are fifth. Tamebridge opened up a 4-1 lead before sealing an eventual 5-2 win.

Old Liberal Club’s record in the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League so far is played fifteen and won fifteen the most recent being a 5-2 home win over Raven ‘A’ to maintain their four points lead over second placed Bird in Hand who won 6-1 at Raven ‘B’. Third in the table Gate Hangs Well ‘B’ had a 5-2 home win over fourth in the league Five Ways to put them two points ahead of their opponents and although two behind Bird in Hand they have a game in hand which could see them move up into the number two spot. Sixth in the league Princess handed out a 7-0 whitewash to their hosts Mount Pleasant with M.Foxall notching two maximums for the winners.

In week eighteen of the Amblecote RBL Premier League eighth place Ian Townsend was the only play in the top ten to play a game as he added a 6-1 win over Jon Underhill to his account which actually saw him drop down one place to ninth on 141 points as Gavin Smith won 6-1 against Rob Pierce, Jack Pritchard and Carl Hipkiss to see him move up from eleventh to eighth with the same 141 points.

Wayne Jones extended his lead at the top of division one of the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night Singles League to twenty-seven points with his 7-1 win over Jamie Webb and the 5-3 defeat of second placed Ian Stanton by third in the division Scott Baker who is now only two points behind his opponent with a game in hand.

There is no change in the top three places in division two as none of those players actually played this week and in division three leader Dave Thackeray didn’t play but second placed Thomas Hollowood did and he won 8-0 against Eddie Gripton top see him take over in pole position from Thackeray with 105 points, eight more than Thackeray.
