This coming weekend Warwickshire County Darts Organisation are playing their third premier division fixture in the BDO Inter County Championships and they will be hoping to follow up their win over local rivals West Midlands with a victory against Cheshire.

Last season’s away fixture against Cheshire saw the local county win 19-17 and with a home tie at Bishopsgate Club, Foleshill Road, Coventry, CV1 4JJ hopes are high for their second win in three games.

Last year’s Brian Goodman Cup finalists in the Four Oaks and District League, Golden Hind and Royal Sutton Flights are both through to the next round of this season’s competition, winning against Bishop Vesey (6-3) and 7-2 respectively, S.Paling recording an eight darts game for Royal Sutton.

Oscott Social beat third division rivals Brookvale Social 6-2 while another third division team Sutton Sports and Social Club went 4-3 up against their division two opponents Red Lion but lost the final two games to give Red Lion a 5-4 win.

Plough and Arrows currently bottom of division two started well against St Thomas’s Social Club who are bottom of division one, but at 2-0 up they lost their momentum and then the match 6-3.

M.Maher (Old Oscott Arrows) and A.Clarke (Pint Pot Flights) both hit a 180.

Despite winning 5-4 against Coleshill Social The Pavillions have dropped one place to third in division one of the South Birmingham League as Banbury Arrows replaced them in second place with an 8-1 success against The Trident, both Banbury and Pavilions are on four points but Pavillions have played two games compared to Banbury’s three. Erdington Members Club top the division after adding a 5-4 win over Mackadown Social to their tally giving them a perfect six points from their three games.

In division two Iron Horse are in pole position, an 8-1 win at The Kingfisher giving them a two points advantage over Crown Jewels, C’s Arrows and Toby Jug, C’s Arrows and Toby Jug both have a game in hand.

The Forest of Arden Winter League staged their singles knockout and taking the title with a final 2-1 win over Simon Edwards was John Sidwell.

Singles Winner John Sidwell (Centre) with Sue Kingdon (Organisr) and Trevor Edwards (Treasurer).

In the last four games Sidwell beat Bob Nixon 2-1 and with a similar result Edwards defeated Steve Whatmore.

With Tom Bent’s last opponent unavailable and Steve Sidwell away Mark Gwalchmai ended his season in the Shirley Red Lion Premier League with a 4-0 win over Tim Lowe to move up into second place in the table on 81 points, three short of leader Bent and three ahead of third placed Sidwell. A win in his final game would give Bent the title but third placed Sidwell has two to play and could still mathematically take the title.

Meanwhile the surprise of the night was the 4-0 defeat of Mark Henderson by former league winner Lee Harris, a draw would have seen Henderson leap frog Paul Higgins and take over fourth place. Harris is currently in tenth place but with two games still to play could actually finish the season in fourth place.

Misfits have increased their lead at the top of the Winmau Centre Monday Night League to 27 points after beating bottom of the table Unleashed Warrior 38-10 to give them a total of 294 points.

Although The Untouchables won 32-16 against Full Monty they had to concede second place to What’s The Point who with a 38-10 win over Keep It In The Family go four points to the good on Untouchables with 267 points.

Although East Birmingham Allotment Holders Association won 8-1 against Wagon and Horses in the Small Heath League their lead at the top of the table has been reduced to just one leg of average as their nearest rivals Heartlands Club handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their visitor’s bottom of the table Emerald Club. Both E.B.A.H.A. and Heartlands have won both of their two opening fixtures to give them a two point’s lead over the rest of the field.

After Jim Frost beat Adam Gallett 3-0 he then dropped his first leg of the campaign when he won 2-1 against Matt Gallett, nevertheless he leads the Erdington Red Lion Double Top League with 11 points, one more than both Dean Bayliss and Will Naylor. Bayliss had 3-0 wins against Lee Austin and Alex Downes while Naylor won 2-1 against Ian Jones and followed that with a 3-0 success over Micky Wild.

Week two and of the sixteen starters only two players are without a win so far Alex Downes and Stuart Larvin.

Week two of the Henley and District League saw Village Inn move off the foot of the table when they won 5-4 away to Wythall Legion. Two teams replace Village Inn at the bottom of the table Beausale and Woottton Bears, the former losing their home game against Studley Conservative Club 6-3 and the latter going down 5-4 at home to Dorridge, both of the bottom two teams are without a point and level on average average.

At the other end of the table Studley Cricket Club continue to lead the way, a 5-4 win at Wharf Swifts keeping them just one leg of average to the good on second placed Studley Conservative Club after their win at Beausale.

Tony Randell remains in pole position in the Winmau Centre Thursday Night Champions League having amassed 74 points from his fourteen games, his nearest threat currently comes from Jordan Ward who is some seven points behind him and has played one game more than him.

Three times champion Mick Baker is currently fifth in the table on 51 points, 23 short of Randell but he has five games in hand, five games that hold a possible 35 points, however its early days and there will almost certainly be many shocks to come before the end of the season and the champion is crowned and takes up his twelve months sponsorship courtesy of Winmau.

A 7-2 home defeat by Highwood has seen Dunky’s Boys ousted from the number one spot in the Shirley and District Monday Night League. Dunky’s drop into third place two points behind Highwood who in turn are two legs of average short of the new league leaders Red Lion who won their home tie with Saracens Jesters 7-2.

Cider House and Drawbridge Bears are on the same 8 points as Dunky’s Boys and only trail on average.

Longbridge United are the only team in division one of the South West Birmingham Clubs League with a 100% record, a 7-1 win at Bartley Green FC ‘B’ giving them a two points lead over both Rubery RBL and West Heath CEM, Rubery winning 5-3 against Dingle and CEM beating Yardley Wood 6-2.

It’s close at the top of division two with only one leg of average separating leaders Solihull Municipal and Bournbrook who are both on a perfect six points after they won 5-3 in turn against Moseley Brunswick and Perfection.

Stirchley Nomads lead the Ladies Section with four points from three games but second placed Bournbrook Ladies are on the same four points from only two games.

The Pip Club League played round one of their Challenge Cup and in the division one games there were wins for Birchmoor Club, Queens Head, Sports Bar ’180’ and The Office.

Going through to the next round in division two are Old Liberal, Progressive Club and Dolphin, Red Lion had a bye.

The Camp Hill League’s presentation night saw Cotterills Lane Club collect trophies as league and cup winners with Hay Mills Social finishing as league runners up and Gulp Tribe cup runners up.

With just one week’s fixtures remaining in the Brierley Hill Monday Night League the title is still not decided as it could go to either current leaders Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club or Delph Bell as both teams are on the same 48 points, the Ex Serviceman’s Club are in pole position with a superior average after their penultimate 8-1 win over King William while Delph Bell won 6-3 against Limes Club.

Week 28 in the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League and just two points separate the top two teams after leaders Ten Arches ‘A’ suffered a shock 5-4 defeat away to sixth in the table Gate ‘A’. Second placed and local rivals Ten Arches ‘B’ had a convincing 8-1 win against Queens to keep them well on track with their ‘A’ team.

The Netherton Thursday Night League played off the second leg of their Andy Bastable Trophy which saw Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club and Hill and Cakemore Liberal Club win through to the final.

Townsend Club and The Bell will make up the final of the Shadow Cup after both teams had overall 10-8 wins.

There were 6-1 wins for the top two teams in the Brierley Hill Friday Night League leaders Brickmakers Arms ‘A’ winning away to Netherton Cricket Club ‘B’ and second placed Netherton Cricket Club ‘A’ beating Brickmakers Arms ‘B’ to leave them two points off the top.

Pensnett Welfare Club ‘A’ won 4-3 at Britannia but being as Miners (Wollescote) won 6-1 against Fox Inn ‘A’ (Lye) the two teams now share third place.

As a result of losing 7-2 at home to Old Bulls Head, Gornal Labour Club not only lost for the first time in six games in the Sedgley and Gornal Tuesday Night League but also lost pole position to Club Dudley who made it six wins in as many games when they won 7-2 against Britannia.

Fifth in the Rowley Monday Night League table Ex Serviceman’s ‘B’ were the only losers in the top five, a surprising 5-4 home defeat at the hands of a Fairfield team who move up one place to seventh.

Top team in the Hilltop Friendly Tuesday Night League Dewdrop suffered a 5-2 defeat away to Ivy Bush in week 31 however the loss was immaterial as with only two remaining fixtures they have an eight points lead over second placed Waggon and Horses and have already won the league title.

Riley’s ‘C’ and Sunbeam the top two teams in the division one singles section of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League both had convincing 7-0 wins in their latest games, Riley’s beating Pavilion and Sunbeam accounting for Bull to leave them trailing their rivals by two points.

In division two leaders Dog and Partridge had a bye but second placed Wednesfield Legion were unable to reduce the four point’s deficit as they went down 4-3 at home to Yale Club.

Week 31 produced a rare win for Jones Road who are next to bottom of the Tettenhalll Wednesday Night League table as they chalked up a 4-3 win over ECC ‘B’ who are now two places and three points above them.

It was not a good week for Churchills in the Wednesbury and Darlaston Wednesday Night League as the ‘A’ team lost 8-1 to leaders The Nutan and the ‘B’ side went down by the same score to second placed Black Horse.
