Warwickshire’s penultimate fixture in the premier division of the BDO Inter County Championships was an away game against bottom of the table Essex. There were mixed fortunes for Saturday’s ‘B’ teams as the ladies chalked up a 4-2 win with Nina Bolt taking the match award with her 18.54 average while the men were not so fortunate as they slipped to a narrow 7-5 defeat with their top player being Mark Carter (27.39).

The ladies ‘A’ are still without a win so far this season and in the eight games played have drawn four and lost four, this latest fixture seeing them end all square once again, Natalie Gilbert taking her third consecutive match award with a 21.78 average.

Jamie Hughes with a 29.91 average took the men’s ‘A’ award as they recorded a 7-5 win to put the overall result at 19-17 to Warwickshire which has seen them move up the table from fifth to third with just one remaining fixture.
