Warwickshire will start their new season in the BDO Inter County Championships in the premier division, their eighth consecutive appearance in the top flight, that in itself a fantastic achievement.
There are no prizes for guessing who Warwickshire will play in the opening fixture as in all of the previous seven season’s and this one will be no different they will face reigning champions Yorkshire in what will be a tough away game.
The unfortunate thing about having played Yorkshire in the last seven curtain raisers is the fact that Warwickshire haven’t won on opening day since they beat Hertfordshire away in the 2008 – 2009 campaign, but perhaps this is going to be the season that will put the Yorkshire voodoo to rest and Warwickshire return to the Midlands with a win under their belt.
