Derbyshire v West Midlands

Derbyshire’s record so far in the division two of the 2014 – 2015 season in the BDO Inter County Championships is played four won four and they currently lead the promotional table with 104 points, ten more than second placed London. Their mid season fixture this coming weekend is a home tie against West Midlands who are not enjoying the best of seasons as they are lying next to bottom of the table, eleven points to the good on Wiltshire who are bottom. However the majority of teams have played one game more than West Midlands as their opener to the campaign against Nottinghamshire was postponed until March and so the league at present may be a little misleading. Nevertheless after narrowly missing out on promotion last season the home team are well on course for a top two finish this season and on current form they should get promoted as champions.

Team selection for this next fixture is Men’s ‘A’:- Adrian Asprey, Paul Baker, Paul Bettney, Nigel Daniels, Tim Daniels, Gary Fenn, Richard Hanson, Paul Mellor, Stephen Pashley, Andrew Smith, David Smith-Hayes, Reece Spurr, Men’s ‘B’:- Jim Beardmore, John Clifford, Keith Cooper, Tony Cresswell, Robert Needham, Colin Rich, Rob Smith, Lee Stanley, Alan Statham, Dean Wilkins, Paul Williams, Rob Wood, Reserves:- Dave Allcock, Dean Allsopp, Ian Byard, Paul Holman, Wayne Pepper, Brian Snell, Mark Walker, Rob Woolery, Women’s ‘A’:- Rachel Bird, Jane Densley, Sara Harrison, Lauren Jackson, Joanne Oldershaw, Jackie Sweet, Women’s ‘B’:- Rachel Ayres, Dawn Buckley, Sammi Clarke, Kelly Dean, Dee Fenn, Nicola Fletcher, Reserves:- Lynda Gilbert, Faith Mosley, Louise Rawson-Lee.
