With most of the issues decided the Sheldon and District Summer League had one outstanding fixture in group two, the result of which would decide who won the title. The fixture was a rearranged game between second in the table Mackadown Social and bottom of the division RAFA. Home advantage saw Mackadown record a 6-2 win which gave them a total of 18 points to leapfrog Sheldon Dukes and win the division by just one point.

It was week three of the Sheldon and District Winter League and reigning premier division champions Saltley Amateur Gardeners chalked up their first win of the campaign, a 7-2 away success against Shard End RBL. Shirley RBL and Brook Meadow are the only remaining 100% teams in the premier division and in turn they accounted for Olton RBL 6-3 and RAFA by the same scoreline. Shirley stay in pole position by just one point of average.

Scanlons and Sheldon Heath Social are the two undefeated teams in division one. A 5-4 home win over Shard End RBL Vikings secures Scanlons number one spot, but only by one leg of average as Sheldon Social won by the same margin in their away fixture with Yardley Ex Colts.

Division two sees Custard House and Willclare Sports and Social dead level on both points and average, Custard House having a 7-2 win at Bordesley Labour Club, while Willclare won their away tie with Glebe Community Association by 6-3.

Also on the agenda for the league was the preliminary round of the Punch Bowl. Millhouse were the biggest winners, an 8-1 away victory over Barley Mow. Shirley RBL beat Vaughans 6-3, while there were 5-4 wins for both Willclare Sports and Social and Custard House against respective opponents Highwood and Yardley and District Darts Team.

Smethwick Labour Club completed their fixture card in division one of the Harborne and District Summer League with an 8-1 away win against Man on the Moon. The win gave them a total of 24 points which was enough to give them the divisional title. Midland Red’s programme finished with a 6-3 home win over bottom of the table Bell Inn to give them the runners up spot, just two points behind the champions. Hillyfields ‘A’ were also two points adrift of Smethwick Labour, but they had a far inferior average to the Red’s and took third place.

In division two, Old Crown were champions amassing a total of 18 points from their ten games, losing on just one occasion.

Bartley Green F.C. finished the season on a high handing out a 9-0 whitewash to Avenue Social to clinch second place, four points ahead of both Hillyfields ‘B’ and Quinton Members Club.

Individuals who finished in style were K.Bambrick (Bell Inn), A.Powell (Pheasant) and K.Pemberton (Bartley Green F.C.) who all notched a maximum.
