The Sheldon Heath Social Club was the setting for the Forest of Arden Winter League’s men’s and women’s singles knockouts.

The quarter finals of the men’s event saw Mick Gorste (Hobs Meadow) take out team mate Gareth Bruce and Red Arrows man Craig Hall defeat another Arrows player, Alan Price. In the semi’s Gorste beat Hall and Mick McCormack (Mackadown Social) win against Barry Salter (Stechford Social). In the final Gorste took the title with a straight 2-0 win.

Strangely the ladies final was a repeat of last season’s final, where Jeanette Mulholland (Red Arrows) won 2-1 against Stechford Social’s Jeanette James. Losing semi finalists were Ruth Gwillam (Cocks and Hens) and Claire Barber (Hobs Meadow).
