With the league fixtures all done and dusted the C’s Club Double Top Wednesday Night League staged a Random Trebles Knockout. League champion Bob Nixon was drawn out to play alongside Jamie Carter and Ryan Beale, they booked their final place with a 2-0 win over Dan White, Wayne Cooper and Lee Walker in the semi-finals. From the other side of the draw league runner up Simon Edwards played alongside Charlie Kingdon and Melissa Beale and won their last four game against Richard Mills, Connor Marshall and Richard Leigh 2-1.

The final saw Edwards, Kingdon and Beale beat Nixon, Carter and Beale with a straight 2-0 scoreline.

The South Birmingham League had the semi-finals of their Roy Parry Cup and Roy Parry Consolation Cup on their fixture card with neither of the cups producing any shock results. In the Roy Parry Cup division two side The Trident lost 6-3 to division one side Coleshill Social and in the other semi division one leaders C’s Top Guns beat fellow division one team The Gate 8-1.
The Consolation Cup semis were an all division two affair with leaders The Dog winning 5-4 against next to bottom of the table C’s Flights and second placed C’s Hot Shots took out bottom of the table C’s Arrows with a 6-3 result.

Presentation night for the Shirley Premier League saw a play off between Lee Holtham and Derek Harper the players finishing in the bottom two positions of the league with the winner getting his entry money of £20 back. The game went the full three legs distance with Lee Holtham getting the 2-1 verdict.
Following the presentation there was a random doubles played which involved twelve pairs. To reach the final Chris Thomas snr and John Smyth won 3-1 against Lee Holtham and Phil Thomas, had a close 3-2 success against the fancied pairing of Pete Silver and Andrew Thomas and booked their place in the final with a similar 3-2 win over another hotly tipped twosome Chris Thomas jnr and Antony Daly. In reaching the final Chris Thomas snr had knocked out three of his sons!
The other finalists Mark Gwalchmai and Mick Bown began their campaign with a very close 3-2 win over Sean Talbot and Dave Heighway after Talbot missed double twenty for a 119 finish to win the deciding leg. In the second round they handed out a 3-0 defeat to Jack Barrows and Mark Henderson and won their semi-final 3-1 against Jordan Ottley and John O’Sullivan.
Mark Gwalchmai and Mick Bown were first off the mark in the final and went on to clinch the top prize of £44 with a 3-0 result. Thomas and Smyth received £16

Boldmere St Mikes beat Golden Hind 6-3 in division one of the Four Oaks and District Winter League to keep them within two points of leaders The Boat and also keep alive any hopes they have of winning the title. The Boat visited third placed rivals Old Oscott Arrows and won 7-2 but still have to win their final match to secure the first division title.
The Fox played hosts St Thomas’s Social Club and actually lost the first three games, however they fought back to take the match 5-4 to become division two champions. Erdington Arrows play The Fox next week, a win for Erdington Arrows would see them finish as runners up to The Fox.
In division three leaders Rosey Mac’s and second placed Oscott Sports had narrow 5-4 wins to keep a two point’s difference between the two teams with just one game to play.
M.Partridge hit his second 180 for Pint Pot Flights while K.Deeley (The Boat), S.Wilson (The Fox) and B.Hughes (Red Lion) notched their first.

A huge 8-1 win over bottom of the table Sheldon Marlborough Flights has taken East Birmingham Allotment Holders Association’s unbeaten run to nineteen games in the Small Heath League and maintains their two points advantage over second placed Heartlands Club who had a similar 8-1 win in their fixture at Sheldon Marlborough Arrows, however EBAHA have the further benefit of having two games in hand on Heartlands.

Chris Williams was in top form in the latest round of fixtures in the ECC Sports and Social Club Thursday Night Champions League kicking off his three games with a 6-1 win over Liam Baker in which he hit a maximum and checked out on 131. He then won 5-2 against Rob Montana once again notching a maximum and rounded off his night with another 5-2 win beating Chris Manoila and hitting his third 180 of the night to put him top of the table on 123 points from 27 games. Second in the league Chris Fox played two games and lost them both 4-3 to reigning champion Mick Baker and third in the table Andy Vellender. Fox has 117 points from 28 games and Vellender 104 from 24. Mick Baker won his second game against Sam Aitkens 4-3 to give him 101 points from 21 games and fourth place in the table.

With just six fixtures remaining in the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League third placed Ten Arches ‘B’ suffered a setback to any hopes of taking the title when they lost 5-4 away to fourth in the table Britannia who with 54 points are ten behind their opponents. Leaders Brickmakers Arms took their undefeated run to 36 games with a 7-2 win at Stourbridge RBL and keep intact their six points lead over second in the table Ten Arches ‘A’ who had a close 5-4 result at home against Ashwood.
Sixth in the table British Oak had a surprising 5-4 loss at Church Tavern who are some 22 points and nine places behind them.

Wins for the top five teams in the Silver End Sunday Morning League with leaders Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club winning 6-2 against the Bell to make it five wins from the opening five games and keep them just ahead of second placed Woodside on average after their 8-0 win over High Oak.
Third in the table Glasscutters ‘B’ have played and won just four games their latest success being a 5-3 win at Brickmakers Arms ‘B’ to give them 12 points the same as fourth team Dudley Sports, but they have played five games.

The Bell enforced their bid for the Rowley Monday Night League title when they handed their hosts Bulls Head a 9-0 whitewash. The win gives Bell a two points lead on Ivy Bush, who after their 6-3 win over Spring Meadow and former second placed George losing 5-4 at Cradley Sports and Social Club, have moved up to the number two position with George dropping to third, now four points off the top.

The two top teams in the Netherton Thursday Night League Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club and Bulls Head squared up to each other in week five, the 5-4 verdict going to the home side Dudley Ex Serviceman’s to open up a three points lead at the top of the table. Bulls Head with nine points are now just one win to the good on third and fourth placed Riddins Tavern and Fairfield who in turn won 7-2 and 8-1 against Townsend Social Club and Saracens Head.

An 8-1 win for Old Bulls Head over Five Ways in the Sedgley and Gornal Tuesday Night League keeps them top of the table and two points clear of second placed Gornal Labour Club while Five Ways drop from third to fourth in the table. Gornal Labour kept the deficit two two points on the leaders with a 6-3 home win over New Inn which keeps them six points ahead of third in the league Coseley Tavern who moved up one place after beating Pensnett Liberal Club 5-4.

After completing sixteen fixtures only two points separate the top two teams in the Pip Club League, top side Bombay Bob’s Boys added an 8-1 win over fifth in the table Dolphin Wanderers to their tally to give them a maximum 32 points while second placed Belgrave Sports and Social Club also won 8-1 against Pip Club.
Individual efforts for the week saw 180’s from Phil Jones (Birchmoor Club), Martin Edwards (Belgrave Sports and Social Club), Mick Chater and Tom Parker (Bombay Bob’s Boys) and Simon Caswell (Dolphin Wanderers), Emily Jones (Sports Bar’180) also impressed with 4×100 plus a 100 finish.

Netherton Cricket Club ‘A were pushed down one place to fourth in the Brierley Hill Friday Night League after losing their home tie with leaders Brickmakers Arms ‘A’ 4-3. Brickmakers ‘A’ are now just one leg of average ahead of second placed High Oak who had an impressive 6-1 win at Brickmakers Arms ‘B’, the to two teams are the only teams to have won all four of their opening games.

Whitmore Reans WMC had a bye in the Tettenhall Wednesday Night League but stay top of the table on average and a perfect ten points. Second in the league Cleveland Arms won 5-2 at McGhees but have played six games, they are just ahead of third placed Hurst Hill on average after Hurst Hill made it five wins from five games with a 5-2 win away to ECC ‘B’.
Fourth in the table ECC ‘A’ kept within two points of the top three with a 4-3 win at Moreton.

Leading the Doubles Division is Wednesfield Conservative Club who latest 3-0 win at The Boat gives them a narrow one leg of average lead over second placed Jones Road who in turn are one leg of average to the good on Bull and Riley’s ‘C’, all of the top four teams have eight points.
