Warwickshire and West Midlands are back in action in the BDO Inter Counties Championship this coming weekend. Warwickshire, in their division one fixture will be travelling north to the Southern Area Memorial Hall, Liverpool where they will take on Merseyside, hoping to add another win to the one in the seasons curtain raiser against Co Durham./

West Midlands will play hosts to Suffolk for their division two match at Chubbs Sports and Social Club, Wolverhampton. Ater a 24-15 defeat at Cornwall, they will be looking for their first win of the campaign and in an effort to obtain that win they have made a few changes.Adrian Arnold steps up to the men’s ‘A’ team with Peter Evans filling the gap in the ‘B’. Red Arrows, reigning champions of the Forest of Arden Winter League got the new campaign off to a winning start, but only just as they scraped through 5-4 at home to Silver Wings. R.South (Red Arrows) began his season with a cracking 145 checkout. Last seasons runners up, Hobs Meadow, recorded the best start to the season, a 7-2 success against local rivals Hobs Meadow Mixes.

Selly Park continue to power on in the Irish Centre Four a Side Ladies League. A 16-5 win over Northfield see’s them on 69 points, twelve more than their nearest rivals Acocks Green who had a 12-9 reversal at the hands of the Sheldon team, currently third with 53 points. Two impressive performances from Selly Park players, Vicky Hanlon who notched a maximum and Lesley Newcombe who hit 3×100,106,121 plus 3×140.

The South West Birmingham Clubs Summer League will be holding their annual presentation dance on Friday 12th November. The event will be staged at Tascos Social Club with an 8-00pm start. Tickets at £2.00 each can be purchased on the door. League secretary Carol Twigg as suggested that a raffle prize from each team would be gratefully received.

In the final of the Knockout Cup in the Harborne 401 Summer League Bell Inn’s R.Kinsella notched a 180, however it was not enough for his team to avoid a 5-4 defeat against the Red Lion whose, P.Brotherton recorded an eleven darts game. In the semi’s Red Lion, with a 180 from W.Hadley took out Beeches with an 8-1 scoreline. Bell defeated Bartley Green Social Club 6-3, J.McEvoy breaking with 160.

In the Harborne and District Winter League, Avenue Social, in division two whitewashed Stonehouse Flights 9-0, while in the second division Stonehouse recorded an 8-1 victory at Bartley Green Social Flights.

With 33 points, Birmingham Vauxhall lead the Warwickshire Men’s Super League. In their latest match Vauxhall were held to 4-4 at home to Kingstanding. Second placed Bedworth Bank’s also finished all square in their fixture at Birmingham Midland Red leaving Bedworth two points adrift of the leaders. Coventry Potters Green move up to third place as a result of their 6-2 win at Warwick Town.

Shirley Legion, leaders of the Acocks Green Summer League moved another step nearer the title with an 8-1 win at the Railway. Brewers Arms had a comfortable 7-2 success at home to Britannia Arrows
