Following back to back victories over Cheshire and Buckinghamshire in division two of the BDO Inter Counties Championship, West Midlands will be hoping to make it a hat trick of wins when this coming weekend they take on Leicestershire at the Chubb Sports and Social Club, Wolverhampton.

The previous two wins have seen West Midlands climb the league to a respectable mid table fifth position. Leicestershire meanwhile are currently bottom of the division and a win for the home team looks a real possibility.

In the latest round of fixtures in the Irish Centre Four a Side Ladies League, Northfield were in tremendous form, crushing their opponents, Perry Barr as they stormed to a massive 20-1 victory. As a reward for their feat the Northfield team have moved up the table to second place with 128 points, eighteen adrift of the leaders Selly Park, who had a 13-8 win over Sheldon. Once again Lesley Newcombe was Selly Park’s top scorer, hitting 6×100,120 and 2×140. Ward End got off the foot of the table with an 11-10 success against Handsworth, Perry Barr now taken over the bottom spot.

There were major shocks in the Acocks Green Winter League as both of the top two teams lost. Brewers Arms were playing at home against Tyseley WMC and chalked up a 5-4 victory, their first win of the current campaign. Joint leaders Journeys End travelled away to Red Rooster and it was the hosts who finished on the right side of the 6-3 result. Third placed Shirley Legion gained ground on the leading pair with a 7-2 home over the Plume of Feathers.

In the match between the Mitre and King Edward V11 in the Amber Windows League both teams had a player who checked out in 10 darts, E.Rice (Mitre) and K.Nicholls. However, that was where the similarities ended as the away team, King Edward romped to an 8-1 victory. Vauxhall Social in their game at the Seventh Trap went one better by handing out a 9-0 whitewash.

In the other fixtures played Yew Tree and Old Oscott Social both won 5-4 against respective opponents Kynoch Social and Red Lion.
