An away game against Essex second in the premier division table of the Riley’s BDO Inter County Championships, proved to be a little too challenging for local county Warwickshire. The result after Saturday’s games was still well and truly in the balance as both the men and ladies finished all square. Jimmy Hill (28.23) was the top man in the men’s 6-6 draw, while Louise Graham (19.52) achieved her fourth match award of the season in the women’s 3-3 draw.
The following day the ladies lost 5-1, Sue Gulliver (19.52) their sole winner, the surprise being the 3-2 defeat of Trina Gulliver by Viv Dundon, Trina’s last defeat was in the opening game of the season away to Yorkshire, when she lost 3-1 to Lorraine Farlam.
The men went down 7-5, Ian McFarlane collecting the match award with a 28.81 average.
