Warwickshire’s latest premier division encounter in the Kaliber BDO Inter Counties Championships was a home tie against Lancashire. The result was a 24-15 win for the visitors and Warwickshire’s sixth defeat in eight games, leaving their survival in the premier division in real jeopardy as there is now only one more fixture to play this season, an away game against Glamorgan, which will not be an easy task.
The weekend began with the ladies ‘B’, Caroline Pike (17.21) their only winner in a 5-1 reversal. The men’s ’B’ also suffered a defeat, 8-4 with Prakash Jiwa their top player with a very worthy 30.67 average.
Sunday’s results were a little better with the ladies winning 4-2, Trina Gulliver making it five lady of the match awards in a row with her 25.91 average per dart. The men recorded their first 6-6 draw of the campaign, Dave Harris claiming the match award with Warwickshire’s best average of the fixture 30.75.
