Warwickshire’s most recent Kaliber BDO Inter Counties Championship premier division game was away to Cambridgeshire, a fixture they lost 23-16. Saturday’s games saw the ladies finish all square at 3-3, with Linda Farrell (17.05) their top player, while the men record their first win in seven, a 9-3 result with Trevor Frost (25.65) man of the match. Sunday was not so good as the ladies went down 4-2 and the men 10-2, Trina Gulliver (28.36) and Rob Hawker (30.06) taking the match awards
This latest defeat leaves Warwickshire in real danger of relegation as they now have 117 points and are now second to bottom team Staffordshire who have 93 points. Nearest team to Warwickshire are Cornwall who are seven points ahead of them. The final two games at home to second placed Lancashire and away to Glamorgan, who are just ahead of Cornwall are two critical games and points from both are vital if the county are to retain their premier division status.
