Warwickshire, after two straight defeats in the premier division of the Kaliber BDO Inter Counties Championships have bounced back to winning ways at home to local rivals Staffordshire. Playing at Canley Sports and Social Club, Coventry the weekend began with a 4-2 win for the ladies ’B’, Betty Sinnett (20.31) their top player. The men’s ’B’ like the ladies chalked up their first win since the first day of the season, beating their counterparts 7-5 with Tom McGlone taking the match award with his 28.84 average.
On Sunday the ladies maintained their unbeaten run with their third consecutive 3-3 draw, a 24.64 average from Clare Bywaters helping them on their way. To round off the 22-14 victory the men’s ’A’ won 8-4, Scott Mitton (28.98) man of the match.
