It was not a happy end to 2004 for Warwickshire as they lost their unbeaten run in the premier division of the Kaliber BDO Inter Counties Championships. Playing at home against Hampshire the ladies ‘B’ went down 4-2 with Vicki Byrne (17.10) their top player. The men’s ‘B’ after leading 4-2 had to content themselves with a 6-76 draw, Dave Buckley (27.59) taking the match award.
Sunday’s games did not get much better as the ladies finished all square at six each and the men finished on the wrong side of an 8-4 result giving the away team a 21-15 victory. Taking the match awards for the ‘A’ teams were Tony Brown (30.67) and Trina Gulliver (27.83).
