For the third successive fixture West Midlands were unable to record a win in the BDO Inter Counties Championships and suffered a 22-17 defeat against Northamptonshire, the men’s ’A’ won 7-5, while the ’B’ lost their 100% win record finishing all square at six each. The ladies ’A’ lost 5-1 and the ’B’ earned a 3-3 draw. Taking the teams awards were Ian Jones (28.98), Viv Gould (27.33) and Gill Cook, who with averages of 15.80 and 15.49 took both the ’A’ and ’B’ awards.
