A massive 8-1 win at Banbury Club keeps Saltley Amateur Gardeners in pole position in the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League and take their points tally to a perfect 12 points, two more than their nearest rivals Crown at Shard End, who won their home tie with Iron Horse 6-3. George V lost ground as they went down 6-3 at home to Highwood ‘A’, George dropping two places to fifth, while their visitors moved up the table one place to third.
EBAHA maintained their 100% winning start to the season with a 6-3 home win over Crown-Forget-Me-Not, Raven, who beat Yardley Ex Colts also have the same ten points as EBAHA but they have played six games, one more than their rivals. Riley’s Rags suffered their first defeat of the campaign, a close 5-4 reversal at Willclare Sports and Social, which see’s them drop to fifth place and four points adrift of the leading duo, however, they do have a game in hand on the teams above them and two in hand on Raven. Willclare moved up two places to third. Maggies were the biggest movers in the division, a 6-3 win over Custard House seeing them travel four places to sixth.
In division two Small Heath Amateur Gardeners chalked up their first win in six games, a 6-3 win against Emerald Club, leaders Baldwin Bears won by the same margin against Greville Arms to keep them top of the pile. Highwood ‘B’ and Riley’s Wings played each other and the 8-1 win by the former saw the two teams change places in the table, Wings dropping from third to fifth and Highwood going from fifth to third..

Riley’s Kings won a vital game in division one of the South Birmingham League when they beat Mackadown Social 6-3. Prior to the encounter Mackadown were outright leaders, but now Riley’s have drawn level on the same four points and have the advantage of having played one game fewer than their rivals. J.Frost recorded a 160 break for the ‘Kings’, while D.Marshall and D.Young both had a ten darts game.
In division two St John’s, with a 10 darts game from S.Edwards march on defeating The Trident 7-2, but they only lead the table on average as Coleshill Social have also won their opening three fixtures, their latest being a 6-3 win over Iron Horse. The Dog lost second place as they were beaten for the first time in three games, a 6-3 loss away to Toby Jug.

Rose and Crown lost their unbeaten record when they finished on the wrong side of a 6-3 scoreline at Brickmakers ‘B’ in the Netherton Thursday Night League. Despite the defeat Rose and Crown hang on to the number one spot but Cottage Spring, who won their home game with Bull and Bladder 5-4 have drawn level on the same 12 points.
Just one team, Fairfield, remain undefeated in the league, they won 6-3 at home to Bulls Head, who drop three places to seventh. Fairfield are currently sixth in the table and three points adrift of the leading pair, but they have two games in hand and wins in those two games would see them go three points clear of the rest of the field.
Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club lost 5-4 at the Prince of Wales and as a result drop to ninth from fifth in the table.

It was cup week in the Four Oaks and District League, the preliminary round of the Brian Goodman Cup in which Cross Keys Arrows won 5-4 against a depleted Plough and Barrows side who came within a single leg of winning the match. The Fox and Old Oscott WMC were also 5-4 winners against respective opponents The Greyhound and Brookvale Social.
Biggest winners of the round were Sutton Sports who handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their visitors Anvil Nomads. Other winners were, Deer’s Leap Stags, Old Oscott Arrows, The Beehive, Boldmere Sports, The Nomads and White Lion.
On the individual scene M.Compton hit a maximum for Old Oscott Arrows and J.Kavanagh had a 160 break plus a nine darts game for Sutton Sports.

Playing at the Dolphin the Tamworth League had their Three Tuns Trophy on the fixture card and in the first round there were wins for Tam O’Shanter, Sports Bar ‘180’, Fox and Dogs and Old Liberal House, who in turn defeated Wigginton, Sports Bar, Longwood and Mile Oak Rovers.
Only two of the winners progressed through round two, Old Liberal House and Fox and Dogs, who beat respective opponents Dolphin ‘A’ and Dolphin ‘B’. Tam O’Shanter lost 4-1 to Globe Inn and Sports Bar ‘180’ went out of the competition by 4-2 to Three Tuns, Fazeley.

For the second consecutive week Yeltz Bar lost in the Cradley Tuesday Night League. This week Yeltz went down 4-3 away to Roost ‘A’, but they still hold on to third place, four points ahead of Gate (Colley Gate), who lost their home game with second placed Chainmakers ‘B’ 5-2.
Brickmakers won 5-2 at Netherton Sports and Social ‘A’ giving them not only a total of 56 points, but also the league title as second placed Chainmakers ‘B’ are six points behind with only two games to play.

Three teams are on six points at the top of division two of the Forest of Arden Winter League, Riley’s Wings currently top on average with Chelmsley Town second, with a game in hand and Highwood KB third. Wings won their latest fixture at Greville Arms 6-3, while KB had a 5-4 win at Ivy Leaf Bulls, Chelmsley had a bye this week.

In week four of the Riley’s Sunday Knockout League Ian McFarlane with a 4-2 result and scores of 5×100,2×120,2×134,137,2×140 and 180 defeated Mike McFall in the ‘A’ knockout final, McFall’s score being 7×100,6×140 and 180.
The ‘B’ knockout was won by Trevor Frost who had a straight 3-0 win against Paul Lawrence in the final game.
The league table now see’s McFarlane top with 30 points from his four games with Mike McFall second on 24 from three games. Trevor Frost and Brendan Lysaght are also on the same 24 points as McFall.

Just two games played in the Camp Hill League, one of them crucial as Scruffy Ringers beat Station Flights to go top of the table by just two points of average over Cotterills Lane Club, both teams having16 points.
The other fixture also finished with a 5-2 margin, Wagonners beating Shaftmoor Lions.

For only the second time in five games Dolphin lost in the Pip Club League. Playing at Birchmoor Club they lost 9-7, a defeat that saw them drop three places in the table to fifth and they victors hold on to second place two points behind Bulls Head ‘A’, who won 13 -3 at Two Gates Club. Belgrave Club, who in their home tie beat Royal Oak 11-5 are also on the same 8 points as Birchmoor.

Not much change at the top of the Rowley Monday Night League as all of the top four teams won. Leaders Bulls Head (Rowley) had a 6-3 home win over Ex Serviceman’s Club, who are fifth. Second placed Bull Terrier were also 6-3 winners in their away game against Golden Cue. Third and fourth placed Ivy Bush ‘Z’ and Bell both had 7-2 wins against respective opponents Yew Tree and Fairfield.
With Bulls Head (Rowley) having already won the title, the battle is on now for the runners up spot, just two points separating the Bull Terrier (50), Ivy Bush ‘Z’ (50) and Bell (48).
