Warwickshire, currently in fourth place in the premier division table of the Riley’s BDO Inter County Championships, will be playing hosts to Cheshire this coming weekend. The home side should make it two wins in a row as their opponents, who are third from bottom of the table are 14 points behind them, it will definitely be looked upon as a winnable fixture.

In division two West Midlands will be looking to maintain their 100% record and make it three consecutive wins as they make the long trek to the south west to take on Somerset at the Bath City Football Club, Twerton Park. However, it will not be an easy tie for the Midlander’s as their hosts are currently languishing in the number one spot in the table on 52 points, six more than their visitors.

Week two of the Four Oaks and District League saw all their division one and division three games finish with 7-2 results. There was no drama for reigning champions Sutton Sports this week as they beat Old Oscott WMC 7-2 in division one, Red Lion Flights beating The Greyhound by the same scoreline to top the division. Old Oscott Arrows were the other division one team to win they defeated Deer’s Leap Stags.

Anvil Nomads top the second division, repeating last week’s winning 6-3 margin against Bromford Lions. A depleted Plough and Barrows side lost 7-2 to The Beehive, while Boldmere Sports, who required the last two games to win a close 5-4 against The Fox.

Bishop Vesey won 7-2 at Crown Warriors to narrowly lead the third division from White Lion, who lost their first two games but won the following seven to beat Cross Keys Arrows 7-2.

B.Godfray (Plough and Barrows) and A.France (Bishop Vesey) both hit a maximum.

In their fourth game of the new season, Rose and Crown had a convincing 8-1 home win over Yew Tree to open up a two points lead at the top of the Netherton Thursday Night League. Second placed Cottage Spring had a narrow, but vital 5-4 win away to their nearest rivals Bulls Head, who drop to fourth place in the table.

Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club and Fairfield are both four points adrift of the leaders, still with a 100% win record but they have only played two games so far.

Three games played in the Small Heath League, all of them winding up with a 5-4 result. There were wins for Clock Inn, Gulp Tribe and Redhill Wanderers, who in turn defeated Custard House Flights, Custard House and Wagon and Horses.

The quarter finals of their Challenge Cup Knockout was on the agenda for the Pip Club League and winning through were Bulls Head (Two Gates), Bulls Head (Polesworth), Dolphin and Birchmoor Club at the expense of Sports Bar ‘180’, Pip Club, Belgrave Club and Wilnecote Club.

The top two teams in the Camp Hill League, Scruffy Ringers and Cotterills Lane Club squared up to each other on the formers board, the result a narrow 4-3 win for Cotterills to put them in pole position on 16 points, two more than their guests, who have a game in hand, a win in that fixture would see them return to the top position.

In addition to the top two playing each other the bottom two also played each other, Waggoners getting the better of the 4-3 result to leave their hosts Devil’s Club bottom of the table.

Six of the eight fixtures played in the Cradley Tuesday Night League finished with 4-3 results, the only difference being a 5-2 win for Crown over Chainmakers ‘A and Prince of Wales, who beat Vine 6-1.

Third placed Yeltz Bar suffered a setback as they lost their home game with fifth in the table Plough and Harrow 4-3.

The Crown lost the number one spot in division one of the South Birmingham League when they went down 6-3 at Riley’s Kings. Replacing them at the top of the table is Mackadown Social, who won their home tie with Pavilions 8-1. In form for Mackadown were A.Kavanagh, who scored a maximum and M.Noonan with a superb 156 game shot.

As a result of their 7-2 defeat at Smithswood Social, Toby Jug have dropped from first to fifth in division two, St John’s have taken over the lead following their convincing 8-1 home win against The Kingfisher.

The Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League have completed their league fixtures and only have cup finals to play off. It was a clean sweep for the Village as the ‘A’ side won the division one title and the ‘B’ team took the division two title. Runners up in division one were Otter and Vixen ‘B’, who were six points off the top and the Bull just ousted Riley’s ‘A’ on average to take the division two runners up prize.

The Knockout Cup for the two divisions is down to the semi finals, Victoria, Otter and Vixen ‘B’, Wolverhampton Sports Arena and Pavilion making up the division one final and Wednesfield Legion ‘B’, Bull, Roebuck and Bradmore for division two.

The Tettenhall Wednesday Night League is another to have completed its programme with only cup finals to play off. The league was very closely contested and could not have been any closer as Wednesfield FC took the title with 48 points, the same number as runners up Riley’s ‘B’, who were just one leg of average worse off than the champions.

The cup finals will be played off on Wednesday 6th November and battling it out for the Knockout Cup title will be Riley’s ‘B’, Wednesfield FC, Moreton Arms and Whitmore Reans WMC, the top four teams in the table, it should be quite an exciting play off.

The Consolation Cup last four are, Brewood British Legion, Fordhouses Cricket Club, Bull and Riley’s ‘A’.

The Bell were the only team to lose in the top three of the Rowley Monday Night League, losing their third place after a 6-3 home defeat by Allens Sports and Social Club, who move up the table one place to seventh. Ivy Bush ‘Z’ have taken over third place, they beat Ex Serviceman’s Club 6-3.

Only two teams remain undefeated after two games in division one of the Forest of Arden Winter League, Highwood ‘A’ are top with a maximum four points and The Grange are third, but as yet they have played just one game.

In the second division only leaders Chelmsley Town are unbeaten, their latest win being a 5-4 verdict away to Centurion, who are next to bottom of the table.

A 5-4 win by Saltley Amateur Gardeners has knocked their opponents Crown at Olton from third to sixth in the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League and puts Saltley a clear two points ahead of Crown at Shard End, George V and Highwood ‘A’ at the top of the table.

Raven went down 5-4 at Riley’s Rags in division one and drop to second place behind EBAHA, who won 6-3 at Custard House. EBAHA, Raven and Sheldon Social are all on 8 points, but EBAHA have only played four games the other two have played five.

Baldwin Bears and Crown Arrows both took their winning run to five games in division two Baldwin Bears won 6-3 at Shirley RBL Misfits and are top on average, while Crown Arrows had a close 5-4 win at home to Small Heath Amateur Gardeners. Highwood ‘B’ lost ground, losing 6-3 at Emerald Flights and drop two places to fifth.

Fox and Dogs kept their unbeaten run intact in the Tamworth League with a 4-3 home win over Sports Bar ‘180’ to give them a total of 35 points, seven more than second in the table Dolphin ’A’, who had a convincing 6-1 win at Old Liberal House.

In the ‘A’ board final of the Riley’s Sunday Knockout League Ian McFarlane chalked up a 4-1 win over William Naylor hitting top scores of 4×133,116,114,127 and a 120 finish, to Naylor’s 2×100,180,121,125 and 120.

The final of board ‘B’ saw Neil Parsonage beat Paul Lawrence 3-0, Lawrence scoring 3×100 to the 3×140 and 2×100 of Parsonage.
