There is no change at the top of the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League with the top three teams all winning their away games 6-3. Leaders Saltley Amateur Gardeners beat Raven, second placed Crown at Shard End won at Holy Souls and Crown at Olton beat Highwood ‘A’.

In division one top team Shirley RBL Flights suffered their first defeat in eight games, going down 5-4 away to fourth in the table Custard House. Shirley hold on to pole position with 14 points, but Banbury Club are just two points adrift with a result yet to come in and Yardley Arms, who are third are four points behind with two games in hand.

Willclare Sports and Social had a bye this week and as a result have lost the number one spot in division three. George V won 8-1 away to Crown Arrows and move into top place with the same 12 points as Willclare but with a better average.

Nothing has changed at the top of the Aston League, prior to the week three results Oscott Social and Riley’s were locked together on the same points with exactly the same average. In the latest round of fixtures Oscott Social won 8-1 away to Erdington Arrows and Riley’s won by the same margin at Aston Hotel.

Red Lion, who won 6-3 as hosts to Sportsmans Rest are third on the same six points as the top two but trail but just one leg of average.

Riley’s Flights consolidated their lead at the top of division one in the Forest of Arden Winter league with a 7-2 win at Highwood ‘A’, making it a perfect three wins in th first three fixtures. Greville Arrows and Olton Crown are also undefeated, Greville beating the Grange 5-4, while Olton, who have only played two game’s won 6-3 at Highwood KB.

A similar situation exists in division two with Highwood ‘C’, who won 7-2 at Riley’s Wings leading the field on average from The Crane, who also won 7-2 at Greville Arms and Crown Arrows, whop have played one game fewer than the two above them won 5-4 away to Ivy Leaf Bulls.

For the first time in six outings Sutton Sports lost in division one of the Four Oaks and District League. Playing at home against fourth in the table The Nomads, Sports surprisingly went down 7-2. Despite the defeat Sutton hold on to the top place but only by one leg of average from Old Oscott Arrows, who had a convincing 8-1 win away to bottom of the division Anvil Nomads.

The top two teams in division two, Drakes Drum and The Leopard played each other this week and the result was a 6-3 win for the home team Leopard, who have moved into the number one spot two points to the good on Drakes Drum, who are now level on points with Deer’s Leap Stags, who won their home tie with Sutton Park Hotel 7-2. The defeat was Drakes Drum’s first in the league since March 2011.

There was also a battle at the other end of the table with bottom team White Lion entertaining their nearest rivals Pint Pot Flights. The outcome was a 6-3 win for Pint Pot to put them level on points with Pint Pot Arrows.

Just average separates the top three teams in the third division, The Heartlands, The Beehive and Plough and Barrows. Heartlands won 8-1 at Boldmere Oak, Beehive 5-4 at Highcroft Dragons and Plough and Barrows 5-4 at home to Bromford Club.

The Small Heath League’s End of Season 501 Knockout Competition was won by Emerald Club’s Peter Yardley. Yardley took on and beat fellow Emerald player Neil Parsonage in the final. Losing semi finalists were Joe Fox, another Emerald Club player and Nathan Wykes, representing Midland Darts Centre.

In division one of the South Birmingham League leaders Punchbowl lost their first game in four when they lost 6-3 away to The Crown, Shard End, who as a result have reduced the gap between the two teams to two points. Mackadown Social and Riley’s Kings are respectively placed third and fourth and have won the two games they have played so far and have the same average.

In the second division Banbury Flights had a massive 8-1 win at home against Toby Jug, giving them a slightly better average than second in the table Pavilions, who beat Smithswood Social 5-4, both Banbury and Pavilions have won all four of their games.

On the individual scene M.Showering (The Raven) hit a maximum, while A.Richards (Smithswood Social) recorded a 160 break and an eight darts leg.

Three Horse Shoes, leaders of the Tamworth League, were held to a close 4-3 win by mid table Boot Inn ‘A’, but still have a seven points lead on Boot Inn ‘B’, who are second and won 5-2 at Tam O’Shanter.

Sam Whittaker (Three Horse Shoes) hit the sole 180 this week, making it two in all for Sam to put him joint top of the 180 league with Alan Carter (Boot Inn ‘B’).

Three players have 15 points in the players league, Ash Bowyer, Paul Smallwood and Pete Cheneler.

In the Pip Club League, Dosthill Club had their fixture with J.W.Belgrave cancelled and as a result Sports Bar ‘180’, who won 10-6 against Gate Inn have taken over the number one position with 9 points, one more than Dosthill, who now have a game in hand.

Division two outfit, Belgrave Club continue to impress, a 15-1 home win over Old Liberal Club plus a 180 from Rob Markley putting them in fifth place in the overall table.
