It was round one of the Mrs F. Richman Cup on the fixture card for the Sheldon and District Summer League and the biggest winners of the round were Highwood Arrows, Riley’s Castle Vale and Highwood Flights who all in turn won 7-0 against Crown at Shard End, Scanlons and Ivy Leaf Flights.

The round produced a few shock results as group three leaders Shirley RBL Flights chalked up a massive 6-1 win over group two leaders New Firs Flights and Langley Hall Sports and Social, from group four had a 4-3 win at home to group two team Custard House ‘B’. The all group three game between Holy Souls and EBAHA was as probably expected a close 4-3 result, with the advantage going to the home side Holy Souls.

Other teams to go through to the next round were, Iron Horse, Crown at Olton, Maggies, Old Bill and Bull, George V ‘A’, Sheldon Dukes, Pavilions and Centurion.

It was cup week in the Small Heath League, the preliminary round of their League Cup. Newcomers to the league this season the Clock had a home draw against Sheldon Marlborough Flights however, the home advantage was not enough to avoid a close 5-4 defeat.

Redhill Tavern, third in the division two table took on the leaders from their division Midland Darts Centre and finished on the wrong side of a 6-3 scoreline.

In the final game of the round the gap between the two teams could not have been wider as Custard House Flights, bottom of division two took on local rivals and division one leaders Custard House, as one would imagine the result was an emphatic 8-1 to Custard House to maintain their unbeaten run.

Custard House made it eight straight wins in the Camp Hill League when they hosted Scruffy Ringers and won 5-2. Forgers keep the pressure on the leaders as they handed out a 7-0 whitewash to their visitors Crown Arrows. Langley ladies remain next to bottom of the table after suffering a 6-1 home defeat at the hands of the Redhill Tavern team, but Langley Lads came out on top as they registered a 5-2 home win against Waggoners.
