Custard House maintained their good start to the Small Heath Summer season as they stormed to a 4-0 lead at Wagon and Horses before going on to win the tie 6-3 to put them two points clear at the top of the division one table. Mitre suffered a setback as they went down 5-4 away to Emerald Club, but nevertheless hold on to second place on average over their victors.

In division two, Midland Darts Centre are the clear leaders making it two wins in a row when they won 5-4 at Custard House Flights who are currently at the foot of the table without a point from the two opening games. Behind Midland Darts Centre are a block of four teams all on two points, Cobs Bar, who were beaten for the first time this season 5-4 away to Sheldon Marlborough Flights, Redhill Tavern who had a close 5-4 verdict at home to new team The Clock and then comes The Clock and Sheldon Marlborough Flights.

As the E.B.A.H.A. season draws on the odds are that Neil Parsonage will, at the end of the campaign be crowned champion. The biggest battle appears to be for the runners up spot as Martin Cooper and Matt Cooper are the two players fighting it out for the runners up place.

In the latest round of results it was the top three players who all recorded maximums, Neil in his 3-0 win against Jackie Francis, Martin in a similar 3-0 win over Sheila Carter and Matt as he accounted for Mark Hands, again the result was 3-0.

It was cup week in the Camp Hill League, first the second round of their League Cup in which Scruffy Ringers defeated Redhill Tavern, Custard House claimed their tie with Langley Lads and Roosters had a bye.

In the first round of the Consolation Cup there were wins for Forgers and Waggoners against respective opponents Langley Ladies and Royal George. Both Ladyboys and Crown Arrows had a bye into the next round.

With division one of the Pip Club League already completed and Red Lion named as champions with Bulls Head (Polesworth) runners up all that remained were the outstanding games in division two. Sports Bar ‘180’ completed their season in style, claiming the title with a convincing 10-6 victory over wooden spoon winners Old Liberal Club.

Sports Bar ‘180’ finished with a total of 21 points, two more than their nearest rivals, second place Pip Club, whose end of season game at home to Travellers finished all square at 8-8. Royal Oak completed their programme on a high, previously with only two wins in fourteen games, they wound down with a massive 10-6 home success over Two Gates Club, who finished one place and two points above them in the table.

In division one of the Forest of Arden Summer League Riley’s Red Arrows chalked up a clear cut 6-1 victory at home to Old Bill and Bull. The win keeps Red Arrows in the top spot but by just one leg of average as their local rivals Riley’s Flights also won 6-1 in their away tie with Crown Arrows, both teams are now on four points.

In division two Highwood stretched their unbeaten run to four games with a 5-2 home win over Greville Arms and with a perfect eight points now have a four point’s buffer. However, second placed Highwood KB are also undefeated and although on four points have two games in hand on the leaders. Third in the table Sheldon Flights had a 5-2 win away to bottom team Ivy Leaf.

Wilson Hall march on in the Rowley Monday Night League. A close 5-4 win at the Timbertree giving them 34 points, a narrow lead of two points over Gate Hangs Well, who after their 7-2 win away to Fairfield have moved up one place to second in the table. The Boat are the team Gate Hangs Well have replaced after they went down 6-3 at the Bell. Also on the same 30 points as the Boat are Ivy Bush ‘Z’ and Ex-Serviceman’s.

Week nine of the Sutton and District Summer League produced a local derby between leaders Sutton Sports and second placed Sutton Park Hotel in division one. The result was a 6-3 victory for Sutton Park Hotel to maintain their 100% win record in four games, for Sutton Park it was their first defeat in five, but at present they still hold on to pole position although it is only on average and they have played one game more than Hotel.

It’s as you were in the second division, leaders Pint Pot Nomads winning 7-2 as hosts to bottom team White Lion and second in the table Red Lion Flights having a close 5-4 success at home to third placed Old Oscott WMC. Oscott Social’s S.Shorthouse hit the only maximum of the week despite his side going down 6-3 at Erdington Arrows.

Drakes Drum continue to be the driving force in the third division, a 7-2 win at Bromford Club making it six wins in a row and opening up a four points lead over nearest rivals Heartlands who also won 7-2 in their game at Bishop Vesey.
