The preliminary round of the Mrs F. Richman Cup was the order of the day for the Sheldon and District Summer League and the only shock result of the round was supplied by group six outfit George V ‘B’. Playing away to Highwood KB’s the George ‘B’ returned with a 4-3 victory.
Maggies man B.Swaine (group three) hit the only maximum of the round in his sides convincing 6-1 away win against Custard House ‘A’ from group four. Forget-Me-Not (group two) and Holy Souls (group three) each recorded 5-2 wins, the former winning away to Sheldon Social (group four) and the latter beating group six team Meadway Sports and Social.

The Pip Club League staged the finals of their Divisional Cups. In the division one play off league runners up Bulls Head (Polesworth) defeated third in the table Progressive Club, but the biggest shock was in the division two final where wooden spoon winners Old Liberal Club, who had completed their fixture card without a win in fourteen games, five draws and nine defeats, beat third placed Travellers to take the title.

A date for the diary is Sunday 29th July this is when the Warwickshire County Darts Organisation will be holding their AGM at the Bishopsgate Club, Foleshill Road, Coventry. Any proposals must be with the Secretary, Mr Brian Johnson fourteen days prior to the meeting.
There is one available position as ladies selector, due to Brian Johnson resigning. Anyone interested in this position must have a proposer and seconder in writing. Also anyone interested in becoming an official for the county should contact the Executive Committee prior to the meeting.

The Camp Hill League have played their singles knockout down to the last eight players and reaching the quarter finals are, Arturus Bogucianskas, C.Reed, T.White (Custard House), A.Raelsourne (Crown Arrows), D.Heath (Langley Lads), D.Jelley (Langley Ladies), D.Logan (Scruffy’s Ringers) and John Cawley (Redhill Tavern).

The top three places in the Rowley Monday Night League remain the same as leaders Wilson Hall won 6-3 at home to Ivy Bush ‘Z’, who have dropped one place to fifth in the table, second in the league Boat had a 7-2 home win over Prince of Wales and third placed Gate Hangs Well also won 6-3 at home to the Bell.
Ex-Serviceman’s move up one place to fourth following their 6-3 home win over middle of the table Springfield Social, whose K.Chambers notched a maximum and his team mate, K.Bridge recorded a 160 break.
Spring Meadow remain rooted to the foot of the table after suffering their seventeenth loss in eighteen games, going down 7-2 at home to Bulls Head, they are now two points adrift of the nearest team Fairfield whose game against Hunting Tree was postponed.

With Sutton Sports having a bye in division one of the Sutton and District Summer League, second placed Sutton Park Hotel took full advantage by winning their home tie with Old Oscott Arrows 5-4. Hotel are now just two points off the leaders but with a game in hand, both teams have a 100% win record so far, however Sutton Sports have the superior average.
In the other division one fixture played Fox Flights chalked up a massive 8-1 win over bottom team Leopard.
The division two fixtures brought together the top four teams, leaders Pint Pot Nomads played away to third placed Old Oscott WMC and won 6-3 to extend their unbeaten run to five games. Nomads nearest rivals, Red Lion Flights recorded a clear cut 8-1 win away to Erdington Arrows, who are fourth in the table and so the top four teams all remain as they were. White Lion recorded their first win in four games and they did it convincingly by beating bottom team Pint Pot Flights 8-1.
Drakes Drum and Heartlands, the top two teams in division three met each other on the formers board, the result being a 5-4 win for Drakes Drum to keep their unbeaten run intact and extend their advantage to four points at the top of the table. Heartlands hold on to second place.
The league has also played off various cup matches. First the semi finals of the Alan Slater Shield in which the Leopard had a close 5-4 win over Old Oscott Arrows. Anvil Nomads opponents failed to turn up for the semi final and so Nomads will now take on the Leopard in the final.
In the quarter finals of the Prestridge Shield there were 5-4 wins for Deer’s Leap Stags and Red Lion Flights, who in turn defeated Bishop Vesey and Drakes Drum. Heartlands had a more comfortable 7-2 success against Oscott Social.
Only two of the scheduled four quarter final games in the Roy Bird Shield were played, both of them finishing with 5-4 results. White Lion beat Bromford Club, while Pint Pot Flights accounted for local rivals Pint Pot Arrows.
