On the weekend of the 28/29th January Warwickshire County Darts Organisation will be playing hosts to Lancashire at the Bishopsgate Club, Foleshill Road, Coventry. Lancashire, are currently second in the premier division table of the BDO Inter County Championships, but the home side will be brimming with confidence following wins in their last two fixtures against Cheshire and Cambridgeshire.

Rugby finished 2011 at the top of the Warwickshire Men’s Super League with a total of 79 points from twelve games. Nearest team to the leaders is Leamington, who are just one point behind but do have the advantage of two games in hand.
The best personal performances at this the midway point of the season has seen four players, Mark McGeeney, Prakash Jiwa, Nigel Heydon and Noel Grant all record an eleven darts leg. Three of theses players, McGeeney, Jiwa and Heydon share the best game average of 34.16, while Barry Sheasby has the highest finish of 160.

In the West Midlands Super League, once again, has it has been for many, many seasons before, Tipton lead the men’s league. After completing seven fixtures Tipton have a 100% win record, amassing a total of 63 points, 17 more than their nearest rivals Dudley and Cannock, who both have a game in hand on Tipton.
In the ladies league it’s Wolverhampton who lead the way on 39 points, ten more than second in the table Great Wyrley.

It was a good start to 2012 for the two Riley’s teams in division one of the Forest of Arden Winter League as leaders Riley’s Red Arrows had a 7-2 win away to Harvester and second placed Riley’s Flights won their home tie with bottom of the table Sheldon Flights 8-1. Just one leg of average separates the two local rivals with both teams locked on 10 points.
There was a Christmas hangover for division two leaders Highwood KB, who prior to their game with Riley’s Wings were undefeated, four straight wins. However, they returned from their visit to Wings as 6-3 losers. Despite the defeat KB’s hold on to the top spot with 8 points, still two ahead of second placed Chelmsley Town who won 5-4 at Greville Arms.

The Small Heath League resumed this week with a rearranged League Cup fixture between Wagon and Horses and Sheldon Marlborough Flights. Despite the Flights putting up a brave fight it was the home team who were victorious with a 7-2 win to progress to the next round.

Just one rearranged fixture was played in the Camp Hill League, which saw Forgers win 5-2 away to Devils Club to move them within two points of leaders Sportsman. Lady Westminster and Custard House are also on the same 14 points as Forgers, with Custard House having played one game more than their rivals.
