In the final fixtures of 2011 in the Tamworth Sports Bar League leaders Three Horse Shoes played a top of the table clash with their nearest rivals Sports Bar 180. Playing at home the “Shoes” took full advantage and claimed the close 5-4 win, stretch their unbeaten run to nine games and put them on 75 points, opening a healthy gap of 12 points on “180”, who remain in second place.
At the other end of the table Mile Oak Rovers moved off the foot, going up two places after beating Sports Bar 5-2. This was only Oak’s second win in nine games and it sees their opponent’s take over the bottom spot with 32 points, the same as Moat House, Mile Oak Rovers now have 35, Moat House have a game in hand on both teams.
In the player’s league, as in the main league the top two played each other. The result was a win for Sports Bar 180’s Trevor Barrs over Mark Tomlinson from the Three Horse Shoes, to give Barrs a maximum 27 points from nine games and also a six point’s lead over the rest of the field.

The Bishopsgate Club, Coventry was the setting for what was a cracking day of darts when they staged the Coventry Christmas Men’s and Women’s Open’s, an event that is fast becoming one of the best Christmas darts opens for all players.
With a total of £750 paid out in prize money, the darts play did not fail to produce top class throwing from both events.
Taking the men’s crown was Kirk Shepherd, who won the final against Nigel Heydon by 5-2. Losing semi finalists were, Matt Edgar and Kevin Dowling.
Lifting the ladies title was Louise Graham who had a 5-2 final victory over Warwickshire county team mate Donna Pinch. Going out in the last four were, Sheryl Rowley and Edwina Holdsworth.

The Sheldon and District Winter League have been playing some of their rearranged fixtures and in the premier division a 7-2 home win by Kingshurst and District Labour Club over Riley’s has seen them move two places up the table into fifth, while Riley’s drop to the foot of the table, level on points with Iron Horse, but are just one leg worse off.
In the second division Willclare Sports and Social move up from fifth to third following their 5-4 home win against Scanlons, who are third from bottom, four points ahead of bottom team Highwood ‘B’ and have only two more than next to bottom Small Heath Amateur Gardeners.
George V have leapfrogged Shirley RBL Flights in division three, taking over pole position following a 6-3 win at home against Ivy Leaf Flights, who are bottom of the division.
