There were mixed fortunes for Warwick and West Midlands in their latest BDO Inter County Championship fixtures, Warwickshire travelled south to take on Cambridgeshire in the premier division and with wins for both ‘B’ teams and draws for the ‘A’ teams they returned with a 22-14 victory to lift them away from the foot of the table. In the men’s ‘A’ 6-6 result Steve Hine (29.72) was the top man, while Matt Edgar (27.04) won the award in the ‘B’ sides 9-3 win.

For the ladies Trina Gulliver (22.94) made it four out of four award wins in their 3-3 draw, and it was Angela Jones (22.47) who got the accolade in the ‘B’ sides 4-2 win.

The West Midlands played hosts to division one leaders Cornwall, a game which saw all four teams lose. Both of men’s teams finished on the wrong side of 7-5 scorelines with Ian Jones (29.11) and Ian Stanton (26.51) in turn taking the ‘A’ and ‘B’ match awards.

The ladies teams both lost 4-2, Kath Jenkins taking both awards with averages of 20.88 in the Saturday game and the following day 16.79.

Sutton Sports won a vital division one tie in the Four Oaks and District League when they won their home tie against Deer’s Leap 5-4 opening up a gap of four points between the two teams. Plough and Arrows are on the same 14 points as Sutton Town after their 7-2 home win against Anvil Nomads. Deer’s Leap have a game in hand on the leading duo.

Red Lion Flights won the last two games against Oscott Social Clarets to seal a 5-4 win and maintain their two points lead over second in the table Pint Pot Nomads who won their home fixture against Oscott Social Reds 7-2.

In the third division Drakes Drum and Erdington Arrows both had 6-3 wins to leave them unchanged as first and second in the table, with Drakes Drum on 16 points, Erdington two behind them, maximums this week for J.Kavanagh, B.Linnecor (Sutton Sports), T.O’Kereke (Deer’s Leap), D.Jones (Anvil Nomads) and M.Corfield (Pint Pot Nomads).

Yardley Ex Colts have ousted from the top spot in the division one of the Sheldon and District Winter League after going down 6-3 at home to Pavilions, who have moved up one place in the table to second. New Firs Flights are the new leaders, a 6-3 home win over Holy Souls putting them on the same 10 points as both Pavilions and Yardley Ex Colts. There was a similar occurrence in division three with leaders Langley Hall Sports and Social suffered a surprisingly heavy 8-1 defeat by George V and drop to third, while their victors move up to second. Shirley RBL Flights move up one place to pole position ater their 7-2 win at Ivy Leaf Flights. All top three teams are locked on 12 points.

The top two teams in the Small Heath League, Midland Darts Centre and Scanlons swapped places following Scanlons 7-2 win at Sheldon Marlborough Flights and the Darts Centre could only manage a 5-4 home success against Redhill Tavern, both teams have 10 points, Scanlons are one leg to the good on their rivals.

Riley’s Red Arrows have lost ground in the Forest of Arden Winter League title race after conceding a 5-4 defeat at home to Highwood. Joining Red Arrows at the top drawing level on points and average is local rivals Riley’s Flights, who won 6-3 at the Harvester.

In division two Highwood KB extended their winning run to four with a 5-4 win over their nearest rivals Chelmsley Town. Highwood are now four points clear of the rest of the field.
