There were some big results in division one of the Four Oaks and District League this week, the biggest of them being the 9-0 whitewash handed out by Deer’s Leap to Boldmere Sports. Division leaders Plough and Arrows won their home tie with Old Oscott Arrows 8-1, while second place Sutton Sports won 7-2 away to the Fox Inn.
In the second division the top two teams, Red Lion Flights and Pint Pot Nomads met on the formers board, both teams undefeated before the encounter. The result was a close 5-4 to Red Lion to give them a clear two points lead at the top of the table. J.Vickers was in top scoring form for Pint Pot recording scores of 4×100,107,135,180 plus a 110 break.
Drakes Drum extended their unbeaten run to seven games in the third division after winning 7-2 away to Bishop Vesey. Erdington Arrows kept the pressure on the leaders with a 7-2 success at Pint Pot Arrows and remain just two points adrift.
Other players to notch a maximum were M.Gallett (Plough and Arrows), D.G.Bond (Red Lion Flights and C.Hill (The Leopard).

Yardley Ex Colts, leaders of division in the Sheldon and District Winter League suffered a surprise defeat in their recent game at Holy Souls. The 6-3 reversal was their first loss in six, however they do hold on to pole position, but now by only two points from both New Firs Flights and Pavilions. Pavilions also lost by 6-3 at Forget-Me-Not and drop one place to third, while New Firs Flights take over second place after their 7-2 home win against Yardley Arms.
It was a first win in six for division three bottom team Ivy Leaf Flights as they chalked up a 5-4 home win over Custard House Flights. The win did not take them off the foot of the table, but they are now level on points with Crown Arrows and only two points behind Custard House Flights with a game in hand on both teams.
Olton RBL made it eight straight wins in the premier division when they won their away game with Kingshurst and District Labour Club 6-3. Crown stayed in touch with the leaders winning 5-4 at Old Bill and Bull to remain four points adrift with a game in hand.

It was League Cup Pairs week in the Forest of Arden Winter League and there were wins for Old Bill and Bull, Highwood KB, Riley’s Red Arrows, Riley’s Wings and Highwood, who in turn defeated Greville Arms, Sheldon Flights, Sheldon Arrows, Old Bill and Bull Flights and Riley’s Flights.

In the Small Heath League the League Cup preliminary round game between Custard House Flights and Cobs Bar was one way traffic as Flights crushed Cobs with a 7-2 victory.
On the league front Midland Darts Centre maintained their unbeaten run with a close 5-4 verdict at home to Emerald Club, this was Emeralds first defeat of the season. Scanlons also extended their winning run with a similar 5-4 result at Mitre, again this was Mitre’s first defeat of the season. The two vital results see Midlands Darts Centre and Scanlons on 8 points, with Custard House, Emerald Club and Mitre all two points behind the leading duo.

Custard House lost ground in the title race in the Camp Hill League as they went down 5-2 at home to leaders Sportsman. Sportsman lead the way on a maximum 16 points with Lady Westminster, who won 4-3 against Scruffy’s Mob, four points behind.

It’s with regret I have to announce the passing away of Paul Caswell. Paul, who was 64 years old had been playing darts for around forty years, more recently playing and running the Three Horse Shoes side in the Tamworth league. He was a very sporty and sincere man.
