The BDO Inter County Championships get underway again this weekend and Warwickshire, who narrowly avoided relegation from the premier division last season could not have been handed a tougher start as they host reigning champions Yorkshire at the Bishopsgate Club, Foleshill Road, Coventry.

In week nine and group one of the Sheldon and District Summer League Mackadown Social chalked up their first win of the season, a 5-3 away win over Highwood Arrows, but remain rooted to the foot of the table. Farthings had a bye in group five and as a result lost pole position to Maggies, who won 5-3 away to Custard House ‘A’. Group six leaders Langley Hall lost for the first time in seven and at the same time lost their number one spot as their victors were their nearest rivals Willclare Sports and Social, who have now opened up a two points lead over Langley.

Top team in group seven New Firs surprisingly went down 6-2 at Shirley RBL Misfits, this was New Firs first defeat, but they remain in the top spot with a four points lead over the rest of the field.

The Division Cup title in the Camp Hill League went to league champions Langley Hall with their opponents Lady Westminster having to settle for the runners up spot for a second time, as they finished four points behind Langley Hall in the league.

The South West Birmingham Clubs Winter League are looking to get their season underway on the 19th September, however, there are still places available if anyone is interested in entering a team. It was cup week in the Pip Club League and in the Division One Cup semi finals there was a surprise win for mid table Dolphin over top of the division Birchmoor Club. The other winner was Red Lion, who beat Sports Bar 180.

The final of the Division Two Challenge Cup saw Bulls Head (Polesworth) defeat Queens Head.

The quarter finals of the League Cup were on the fixture card for the Forest of Arden Summer League and progressing to the last four were The Greville, Riley’s Flights and Sheldon Arrows.
