The Sheldon and District Winter League have been busy not only with league fixtures but also the quarter finals of their Sheldon Shield. In the Sheldon Shield Pavilions had a 6-3 win over Highwood ‘A’ while Stechford Social was a close 5-4 win at Forget-Me-Not. Old Bill and Bull were awarded a 9-0 walkover against Red Lion.
On the league front Olton RBL are premier division champions with Saltley Amateur Gardeners, six points adrift on 26 points runners up. Highwood ‘A’ took the division one title on 26 points, two more than their nearest rivals Iron Horse.
In division two the race for the title could not have been more fiercely contested, the result going to the very last game of the season between Forget-Me-Not and Shard End Social. New Firs Flights had completed their fixture card ending the season with 32 points. Shard End with the one remaining game were also on 32 points and Forget-Me-Not two points behind them. The result was a tremendous 8-1 victory for Forget-Me-Not pushing Shard End into third place and taking Forget-Me-Not dead level on points and average with New Firs Flights.
The third division was also very tight as Ridgemere Social clinched the title on 34 points from Maggies who also had 34 points, but with an inferior average.

With the winter league fast drawing to an end the Sheldon and District Summer League are on the lookout for more teams to join them for the forthcoming season which will get underway on the 9th June.

The Divisional Cup was the Forest of Arden Winter League’s priority this week and in the semi finals of the division one play off Riley’s Red Arrows handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their opponents Chelmsley Town, while Riley’s Flights went down 6-3 to Olton RBL.
The final was a close affair with fourth in the league table Olton RBL just getting the 5-4 verdict over divisional leaders Riley’s Red Arrows.
In division two Old Bill and Bull Flights and Sheldon arrows made their respective exits, 6-3 to Greville Arrows and 5-4 to Sheldon Flights. Once again the final produced a narrow 5-4 verdict, this time it was division two leaders Greville Arrows who got the win and second placed Sheldon Flights finished second in the Divisional Cup.

The Tamworth Sports Bar League staged their Charity Cup and taking the honours with a final 4-1 scoreline against Hustlers were league leaders Three Horse Shoes.

Mitre’s Mark Kane is the new Aggregate Knockout champion in the Small Heath League. Mark defeated Edward Martin from Devils Club in the final. Losing out in the last four were Neil Parsonage (Emerald Club) and Paul Webster (Custard House Flights).
In the 501 End of Season Knockout it was Neil Parsonage (Emerald Club) who chalked up the final victory over Alan Wale (Custard House). Colin Walsh (Hay Mills Social Club) and Mark Kane (Mitre) lost out in the last four.
