Both Warwickshire and the West Midlands go into their final fixture of the season in the Riley’s BDO Inter County Championships this coming weekend. Warwickshire will be fighting to maintain their premier division status as they play hosts at the Bishopsgate Club, Coventry to middle of the table Kent. Currently in a third from bottom placing on 125 points they have one point more than next to bottom Surrey and four more than bottom team Cornwall, so a good result is vital to their survival.

In division one West Midlands are in a slightly better position as they are 21 points off the relegation couple of Middlesex and Somerset and have the opportunity to widen that gap as they travel to take on the team directly above them and 16 points ahead of them Derbyshire at the Club Chesterfield, Chesterfield.

The Four Oaks and District League have had cup finals on their agenda, first the Dereck Masters Trophy which was won by K.Shepherd (The Fox) who won the final against J.Kavanagh (Sutton Sports) 3-0. The final of the Brian Goodman Cup saw Fox and Dogs fight back to 4-4 after trailing 4-2 to Sportsmans Rest, but then their luck ran out and Sportsmans won 5-4.

In the Ken Rust Cup second divisions Oscott Social Clarets opened up a 4-2 lead against first division opponents Golden Hind, But Golden Hind rallied to take the last three games and win the trophy with a 5-4 result.

In the third divisions Challenge Cup Sutton Town came back from 3-1 down against Brookvale to snatch a 5-4 victory.

In the Gulp League the Aggregate Cup went to the Beasts, who in the final defeated the Lions.

There was a top of the table clash in the Small Heath League, leaders Custard House playing away to second placed The Mitre. The result was a 6-3 win for the home side and sees them replace their opponents in pole position. Both teams now have 20 points but Mitre have the superior average.

In the League Cup final the first four games between Emerald Club and Hay Mills Social were shared, the Emerald then won four of the remaining five games to win the match 6-3.

After an 8-1 home win over Olton RBL, Riley’s Red Arrows have a clear six points lead at the top of division one of the Forest of Arden Winter League over Old Bill and Bull, who won 5-4 at home to Riley’s Flights. Greville Arrows, who won 5-4 at Sheldon Arrows lead division two, but only on average from Sheldon Heath Flights, who handed out an amazing 9-0 whitewash away to Riley’s Mixed. Although level on the same 16 points Sheldon Heath Flights do have two games in hand on the leaders.

It was top plays bottom in the Camp Hill League, as leaders Lady Westminster hosted Scruffy Murphy’s. The result an emphatic 7-0 win for Lady Westminster to make it four straight wins and a tow points advantage over second placed Clements Arms, who won 5-2 at Laddettes. Third placed Langley Hall won 5-2 against the Roost and with six points from three games are the only other unbeaten team in the league.
