For the second successive fixture Olton RBL, premier division leaders of the Sheldon and District Winter League have lost. They followed up their 5-4 reversal in a rearranged fixture against the Red Lion with a 6-3 home defeat by Saltley Amateur Gardeners in the first game of the second half of the season. Despite the loss Olton still have a four points lead over Kingshurst Labour Club, Saltley Amateur Gardeners and Old Bill and Bull.
In division three Ivy Leaf Flights moved off the bottom with a 5-4 win away to Shirley RBL Misfits. Replacing Ivy Leaf at the foot of the table are New Firs who went down 5-4 away to Ridgemere Social.
A final reminder to all team secretaries that the next league meeting, originally arranged for the 16th January will now be held this coming Sunday 23rd January.

Both Custard House and Emerald Club continued their good form in the Small Heath League extending their unbeaten record to four games. Custard House with a 7-2 home win over Devils are in pole position with a slightly superior average to Emerald Club who won 6-3 away to bottom of the table Hay Mills Social.

The second half of the Four Oaks and District League began with a bye for Division one leader’s Sutton Sports and as a result they have been ousted from the number one spot by The Fox who beat Old Oscott Arrows 6-3. The Fox have a two points lead over Sutton Sports who now have a game in hand. Third placed Boldmere Sports suffered a surprising 5-4 away defeat against bottom of the division Golden Hind, this their second win in nine games leaving Boldmere level on 12 points with Old Oscott Arrows but four adrift of new leaders The Fox.
In division two Pint Pot Flights remain the only team in the league with a 100% win record, they stretched their unbeaten run to ten games with 6-3 away win over White Lion and now have a four points cushion over second in the table Anvil Nomads, who also won 6-3 in their away tie with Aston Social.
Division three produced a top of the table clash between leaders The Red Arrows and their nearest rivals Brookvale. Playing on the Arrows board the result was a close 5-4 going to the hosts and giving them a two point’s lead over Brookvale, who do have a game in hand but have a much more inferior average.

The quarter finals of the Presidents Cup were the order of the day for the Forest of Arden Winter League. Three of the four games ended with a 6-3 scoreline. There were wins for Riley’s Flights, Olton RBL and Harvester, who in turn defeated Highwood ‘A’, Greville Arms and Sheldon Arrows. The game between Riley’s Red Arrows and Old Bill and Bull, currently placed first and third in the table respectively was as expected a very close affair with Riley’s Red Arrows getting the verdict.

In division one of the Pip Club League, Birchmoor Club beat Sports Bar 11-5 to give them the runners up spot, they are level on 25 points with champions Red Lion, but Red Lion not only have a better average but also one game to play.
Nothing is decided in the second division with Two Gates Club currently top on 29 points from 18 games. Sports Bar 180 are second just two points behind Two Gates but they still have two games to play and could easily take over the number one spot. In the latest round of games Two Gates beat Moat House 11-5 and Sports Bar 180 had a massive 15-1 success against bottom team Progressive Club.
