Bad weather caused a number of fixtures to be cancelled in week nine of the Forest of Arden Winter League. However, one team that braved the weather was Riley’s Red Arrows who played hosts to Sheldon Arrows and chalked up a massive 8-1 victory which sees them take over pole position as Riley’s Flights did not play. Red Arrows have now stretched their unbeaten run to seven games amassing 14 points, while Riley’s Flights who are also undefeated have played six games and are two points adrift with a game in hand.

Olton RBL moved up the table to third place with a comfortable 7-2 win away to Kenny’s Boys but remain four adrift of the leaders. In the only other game played Highwood ‘A’ won their home tie with Chelmsley Town 6-3.

Another reminder that the Sheldon and District Winter League have rescheduled their next league meeting, which was set for the 16th January and will now be held on the 23rd January. All team secretaries should be aware of this change.

After completing eight fixtures in the West Midlands Men’s Super League Tipton who have won the title on numerous occasions are leading the field once again. They have won all eight of their fixtures winning 57 games and losing just 15 to give them a total of 73 points. Nearest team to Tipton are Dudley who are a massive eleven points adrift of the leaders, with Smethwick third a further two points behind, then comes a big gap of 13 points to Darlaston in fourth place.

It’s much closer in the women’s league with three teams all on 36 points. Although Great Wyrley, Darlaston and Wednesbury share the 36 points there is a big difference in games played as leaders Great Wyrley, who are top on average have played just nine fixtures. Second placed Darlaston have played ten and Wednesbury eleven.
