First round cup games were on the fixture card for the Four Oaks and District League this week, first the Brian Goodman Cup in which division one leaders had a narrow escape when second division leaders Pint Pot Flights fought back from 4-1 down to level the match before eventually going down 5-4. In the all first division game between Old Oscott Arrows and Boldmere Sports, the former also won the tie against on the last game. Sportsmans Rest, sixth in the first division table hosted second place The Fox and beat them 7-2. K Shepherd (The Fox) hit a maximum, his third of the season so far. Other winners were Fox and Dogs, Grave Diggers, The Red Arrows and Brookvale.
In the Ken Rust Cup Deer’s Leap teams faired well as Deer’s Leap won the last two games to beat Drakes Drum 5-4 and Deer’s Leap Stags had a comfortable 7-2 away win over The Dragons. Going into the hat for the next round draw will also be, Anvil Nomads, Red Lion Flights, Golden Hind and Pint Pot Arrows.

After completing four fixtures in the new season of the Forest of Arden Winter League three teams Riley’s Flights, Riley’s Red Arrows and Greville Arrows are the only teams with a 100% win record. Riley’s Flights are top on average after their 7-2 win away to Chelmsley Town, Red Arrows had a close 5-4 home win over Old Bill and Bull and are second. No result has been received at the time of print for third placed Greville Arrows.
At the other end of the table there was a first win of the season for Sheldon Arrows, who had a 7-2 result at Old Bill and Bull Flights, who are currently anchored at the foot of the table.

The first round of their League Cup was the order of the day for the Small Heath League. Shock of the round was provided by bottom of the table Hay Mills Social, who won their home tie with reigning champions Mitre 5-4. There was joy for the two Custard House teams as Custard House won 6-3 at the Devils and Custard House Flights won 5-4 at Wagon and Horses. Emerald Club had a bye.

The Pip Club League played off the finals of their Divisional Cup. The semi finals of the division one play off saw Belgrave Club beat Birchmoor Club and J W Belgrave Club win against Three Horse Shoes to set up an all Belgrave final. Winners were Belgrave Club.
In division two Queens Head and Sports Bar 180 had respective wins over Two Gates Club and Moat House in the semi’s, the final saw Queens Head beat Sports Bar 180.

Week nine of the Sheldon and District Winter League saw premier division leaders Olton RBL consolidate their number one spot with a 7-2 victory at home to bottom of the table Stechford Social, but in division one in similar circumstances, where top team Highwood ‘A’ took on bottom team Meadway Sports and Social it was a much closer affair with Highwood just getting the 5-4 verdict. Second placed Holy Souls suffered a setback as they went down at home to fifth placed Yardley Ex Flight 5-4
