Week five in the Carlsberg Olton Double Top League and only two players, Bob Nixon and Lee Harris remain able to boast a 100% win record. Nixon added another three 3-0 wins to his tally this week beating Tony Daley, Neil Clarke and Tony Steele hitting a maximum in all three fixtures, taking his points to 31, just one ahead of Tony Randell who also had straight wins against Paul Cornes, Luke Coles and Ian Spencer. Randell was in top form as he hit no fewer than three maximums against Coles and in his game with Spencer he hit another 180 and recorded a magnificent ten darts leg. Lee Harris is currently fifth in the table, ten points adrift of Nixon, but he has played three fewer games.
At the other end of the table congratulations to Jack Sidwell jnr who beat Ralph Nunn 3-0 to chalk up his first win of the campaign.

The Small Heath League are three games into the new season, no team has a perfect record and two of them, Devils and Mitre are dead level on four points and average. Redhill Tavern also have four points but have dropped one more leg than the leading duo. It was this week’s fixtures that saw Devils drop their first points as they went down 5-4 away to Redhill, Mitre won by the same margin at Custard House.
Bottom of the table Wagon and Horse gained their first win of the season, a 6-3 home win over Emerald Club.

The Who’s got their first win in the Gulp League this week as they surprisingly beat second place Tribe 4-3. The win takes Who’s off the foot of the table and replacing them are Rebels who suffered a 7-0 whitewash at the hands of the leading team Tigers. Tigers win takes their unbeaten run to six games and they now have a four point’s cushion over their nearest rivals Tribe and Lions. Lions won 5-2 away to the Beasts.

There was a top of the table clash in the Tamworth Sports Bar League when leaders Three Horse Shoes entertained second placed St Johns Club. The result was a close 4-3 for the Shoes, who have now opened up a massive 12 points lead over St Johns.
The Riftswood team have moved to the Wigginton and the change of venue has also brought about a change of fortunes as they won their home tie against Mile Oak Rovers 4-3 and the win has lifted them two places off the foot of the table.
In the players league it’s neck and neck between Clyde Hooper (Three Horse Shoes) and Mac Tarbuck (Wigginton), both players have won four of their five games and are level on 12 points.

Week two in the Sheldon and District Summer League and the fixtures brought together the two early leaders in group four. Top team Yardley and District Darts Team played hosts to Greville Arms and as would be expected the result was close finishing all square at 4-4. Group three’s early pacesetters Scanlons lost the number one spot and dropped to third after a 6-2 away defeat at Kingshurst Labour Club Pirates, who are now second one point behind the new leaders Pavilions who in their away game against Ridgemere Social handed out an 8-0 whitewash.
