Two of the three joint leaders of the Carlsberg Olton Double Top League lost this week. Tony Randell went down 2-1 to Paul Higgins who produced a 132 checkout and Andy Hutchings lost by the same margin to Paul Sinnett. Both players recovered to win 3-0 in their next games, Randell beating Phil Randell and Hutchings winning against Warren Taylor. Bob Nixon, after his 2-1 and 3-0 wins in turn over Simon Edwards and Ralph Nunn has amassed 22 points and opened up a slender one point lead over three players, Lee Harris, Andy Hutchings and Tony Randell.
Tony Randell produced the fastest leg of the week an eleven darts leg against Phil Randell.

Robbie Earle has reduced the deficit on Ian McFarlane, leader of the thisisdarts.co.uk Individual League to five points. Earle recorded 3-0 wins playing against Stuart Bliss and Blane Homer to give him a total of 96 points, McFarlane meanwhile played just one fixture this week in which he beat Luis Barberan 2-1, leaving him with a game in hand on Earle.
Just three maximums scored on the night and they came from Darren Whitehouse, who hit two and Terry Blakemore.

The Sheldon and District Summer League have got their new season off the mark and the biggest win in the curtain raiser was by group three team Scanlons, who won their home tie against Ridgemere Social, handing out an 8-0 whitewash. Group four’s Yardley and District Darts Team were not far behind with their 7-1 home success against Sheldon Social.
The league has also played off the preliminary round of their Mrs F. Richman Trophy. Ridgemere Social Flights chalked up a massive 7-0 victory away to Redhill Tavern Flights, George V also in top form as they handed out a 6-1 defeat to Maggies. Other teams to win through to the next round were Sheldon Dukes and Willclare Sports and Social who each won 4-3 in turn against Greville Arms and Custard House ‘B’.

After completing the opening four games in the Tamworth Sports Bar League, Three Horse Shoes are in pole position on 34 points, a huge lead, after so few games, of eight points over second in the table St Johns Club, with Sports Bar 180 a further one point behind on 25 points in third place.

Birchmoor Club suffered their first defeat of the campaign in division one of the Pip Club League. Playing at home Birchmoor went down 10-6 to middle of the table Red Lion. Sports Bar inched a little closer to the leaders as they finished all square at 8-8 with Dolphin and now trail by three points. Also on five points are J W Belgrave Club, Belgrave Club and Dolphin.

Entries are now being accepted for both the Coventry Open and the Midland Open presented by the Warwickshire Darts Organisation. The Coventry Open will be staged at the Bishopsgate Club, Foleshill Road, Coventry on Saturday 10th July and carries a guaranteed top prize of £500.
