The Sheldon and District Winter League have been winding down their season with cup matches. First the divisional league cup’s, where in the premier division both of the semi final s resulted in clear cut 8- 1victories for Olton RBL and Mackadown Social, who in turn accounted for Crown ‘A’ and Iron Horse.

The final turned out to be even more convincing as Olton raced to a winning 5-0 scoreline to clinch victory.

In division one the semi finals were much closer as Bagot Arms won by the odd game of nine against Redhill Tavern and Kingshurst Labour Club turned in a winning 6-3 result against Shard End Social.

Similar to the premier division final the division one also finished with a one sided 5-0 verdict, Kingshurst Labour Club running out as winners.

Division two last four play off saw Custard House beat Forget-Me-Not 5-4 and George V finish on the right side of a 6-3 result over Glebe Community Association. The title went to George V as they won the final 5-2.

A final reminder that TD Events will be staging their “2010 Bank Holiday Bonanza” on Sunday 30th May at the St Johns the Baptist Community Centre, Arron Way, Chelmsley Wood. The competition will be restricted to the first 64 entrants on a first come first serve basis and prize money of £700 for the winner, £300 runner up and £100 semi finalists is subject to achieving that number.

Week two in the Pip Club League and Birchmoor Club, with a 10-6 win at the Dolphin have taken over pole position in division one. Other results in the division saw Belgrave chalk up a 12-4 home win over Red Lion, while J W Belgrave Club were not far behind with an 11-5 win at Sports Bar. Newly promoted North Warwick Cricket Club registered their first win in the division, a 9-7 success away to Kettlebrook Club.

In the second division Sports Bar 180 are in the number one spot following their 12-4 win at the Pip Club. Bull, Polesworth are just a couple of legs behind the leaders after their 1-6 win away to bottom of the table Progressive Club.

On Friday 4th June the Warwickshire Ladies Super League will be holding their AGM at the Bishopsgate Club, Foleshill Road, Coventry beginning at 8.00pm. Any person wishing to stand for positions within the league must have a letter of proposal and also a seconder to be sent to the league secretary no later than seven days prior to the meeting date. In addition any rule changes must also adhere to the same rule above.

All teams, both old and new must be in represented at this meeting or a fixed fine of £10 will be imposed on any non attending teams.

After completing three fixtures in the new season of the Gulp League, just points of average separate the top two teams. Tigers, after a 5-2 home win over the Who’s lead the way with reigning champions the Tribe hot on their heels with a similar 5-2 success away to Lions.
