Saltley Amateur Gardeners continue to dominate the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League, their latest away fixture seeing them beat Crown ‘A’ 6-3 giving them a massive six points advantage at the top of the table. Mackadown Social won 6-3 against Pavilions but have lost their number two spot after going down 5-4 in a rearranged game at home to RAFA. Taking over the second place is Olton RBL, who chalked up a 9-0 whitewash over Crown ’B’.

In division two leaders Yardley Arms lost 6-3 at home to Ridgemere Social and have dropped to fourth in the table, Ridgemere have leaped from fifth to pole position level on points with Forget-Me-not who had a 6-3 win at Small Heath Gardeners Flights.

Kingshurst Labour Club took advantage of Highwood’s postponed fixture against Brook Meadow and have leap frogged them into the top spot in division one after beating Yardley Ex Colts 6-3. However, should Highwood win their game in hand they will return to top of the table on average.

Finding the three treble twenties this week were N.Clarke (Saltley Amateur Gardeners), D.Whitehouse (Kingshurst Labour Club) and T.Constable (Redhill Tavern), Scanlons K.Duggan recorded an eight darts game.

In division one of the Four Oaks and District League third placed Boldmere Sports ended the fine run by second in the table Sportsmans Rest beating them 5-4 on their own board to leave both teams four points behind undefeated Sutton Sports who beat a strong Cross Keys Arrows outfit 7-2. At the other end of the division Anvil Nomads moved off the foot of the table with a 6-3 win against Red Lion Flights who have taken over the bottom spot.

In division two Fox and Dogs lost ground in the title race as they suffered a surprising 7-2 home defeat at the hands of the Pint Pot Flights team. Fox and Dogs are now six points adrift of leaders The Fox, who had a 7-2 win over Oscott Social, and have played one game more than the top team.

In the third division Drakes Drum, who had a bye last week had their fixture with White Lion Barrels postponed this week allowing Safe Harbour, who won 7-2 against Sutton Town F.C. to draw level on points with them, but Safe Harbour have now played two more games than Drakes Drum.

Top individual honours this week go to T.Colley (Red Lion Flights) and R.Blaney (Brookvale) who both hit a maximum and T.Frost from The Fox who hit no fewer than seven tons including a maximum and recorded an eight darts game as did his team mate T.Martin.

The first round of the Presidents Cup was on the fixture card for the Forest of Arden Winter League. Shock of the round was provided by division two’s Highwood Kenny Boys who beat first division opponents Sheldon Arrows 6-3. Biggest win of the round came from Old Bill and Bull, an 8-1 win over Greville Arms.

Other teams to win through to the next round were Victoria Flights, Ivy Leaf, Harvester and Riley’s Red Arrows.
