Two 3-2 wins in the last two ‘A’ knockout finals in the Brook Meadow Knockout League has seen Trevor Frost open up a massive 19 points lead at the top of the table. Frost’s last two conquests have been against Ian McFarlane, his nearest rival and Keith Kelly. Second placed McFarlane also has a comfortable gap between him and third placed Rob Wilson, the difference 9 points, with Jason Evans a further three points behind Wilson in third place.

Sutton Sports, with a 6-3 win at Deer’s Leap have extended their winning run to nine games and continue to hold on to their four points advantage over second placed Sportsmans Rest who had a resounding 8-1 home win over bottom of the table Old Oscott WMC. Hill Social lost their third place after going down 5-4 at Red Lion Flights and are now fourth behind Cross Keys PPA who won their home tie with Boldmere Sports 5-4.
In division two Pint Pot and Plough and Harrow Arrows both doubled their points score, the former having a convincing 7-2 win over Deer’s Leap Flights, while Plough and Harrow beat fourth placed Fox 6-3. Pint Pot have moved off the bottom being replaced by Plough and Harrow who have the same points but trail by just one leg of average. Oscott Social have lost pole position after going down 5-4 at home to Bromford Lions. With a 6-3 home win against Pint Pot Flights, Old Oscott Arrows have taken over the number one spot, with a superior average, Old Oscott are second.
Three maximums were scored this week from J.Collins (Sportsmans Rest), S.Mobsby (Deer’s Leap Flights) and J.Leydon (Oscott Social).

Jimmy Norris continues to head the Grange Sunday Night 301 Charity League, but his lead had been reduced to just two points after other players have caught up with their outstanding fixtures. Matt Cooper’s 3-0 win against Phil Watkins has taken him into second place on 41 points.
Leading the shadow league is Jules Harris on 13 point’s, Luke Coles is his nearest rival with two points less.

The premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League brought together the top two teams this week, leaders Saltley Amateur Gardeners travelling to take on second in the table Mackadown Social. The outcome was a close 5-4 in favour of Saltley, Mackadown dropping to third place behind Shard End RBL, who after a 9-0 walkover against Brook Meadow have joined Saltley on the same 18 points.
Division one leaders Vaughans have lost their two points lead after losing 5-4 to third placed Scanlons. Stechford Social beat Yardley Ex Flights 5-4 to now trail Vaughans by just one leg of average. Bottom of the table Lea Hall Sports and Social chalked up their second win in twelve, a surprising 5-4 home win over fifth placed Sheldon Social 5-4.

It’s as you were at the top of division one in the Pip Club League after the top two teams, Glascote Club and Sports Bar Club Tamworth finished all square at 4-4. Third in the table Belgrave Club also had to settle for a share of the points in their away game against lowly Wiggy 180.
In the second division Bull, Polesworth lost the number one place when they could only manage a 4-4 draw at home to third in the table Two Gates Club. Queens Head have moved into the top spot after a 5-3 home win over Red Lion.

Congratulations go to Glyn Thomas and Selina Mornington who have won the Small Heath League’s Mixed Doubles Knockout. Losing out in the final were Derek Rivitt and Kim Pestridge.
The league’s End of Season 501 Knockout date has been changed and will now be played on the 3rd February at the Emerald Club. Last signing in time is 8-30pm prompt.
