It’s tight at the top of the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League, Saltley Amateur Gardeners and Mackadown Social, in turn both chalked up 6-3 wins against Castle Vale Residents Association and Brook Meadow to put them both level on 14 points and also level on average. Shard End RBL and Shirley RBL are two points adrift of the leading duo but both have a game in hand.
Scanlons have lost the number spot in division one following their 5-4 defeat at Stechford Social, who have now gone two points clear of their rivals to head the division. Third placed Vaughans have a game in hand on the two top teams, a win in that game could see them go top.

Sutton Sports extended their unbeaten run in division one of the Four Oaks and District League when they won 6-3 at Anvil Nomads. Sportsmans Rest remain two points behind the leaders, but opened up a two points gap between them and the rest of the field by beating their nearest rivals Cross Keys PPA 7-2.
Division two brought together the top two teams, Old Oscott Arrows and Oscott Social, with the latter winning 6-3 to take over pole position and see Arrows drop to third behind Bromford Lions who won 7-2 at Pint Pot and are now level on points with leaders Arrows and just one leg of average behind them. Royal Oak Ruffians doubled their points tally with a close 5-4 verdict at the Fox, M. Kenny notching a 180 for the Ruffians.

At week 4 Trevor Frost leads the new Coffin Club Knockout League with a total of 38 points, having won three of the four ’A’ knockouts and finishing runner up in the other. Frost’s nearest rival is Neil Parsonage who is eight points adrift, to date Neil has played all of his games in the ’A’ knockout and has won one, been runner up in one and losing semi finalist on two occasions.
In the ‘B’ knockout there has been wins for Robbie Earl, Paul Larden and Roy Parry.

In the GULP League the Tribe, after handing out a 7-0 whitewash to the Lions not only kept their 100% win record intact but also moved up into pole position. With the same number of points, but having played one fixture more than the Tribe is the Beasts, their latest conquest a close 4-3 verdict in their away game against the Rebels.
The Who’s chalked up their first points of the season with a 4-3 away win over the Devil’s.
In addition to the usual weekly matches the league has also been engaged in their Mixed Doubles and Ladies Singles competitions. Winners of the mixed doubles were Jackie Francis and Terry Constable who defeated Eddie Kennedy and Katie O’Sullivan in the final.
In the ladies knockout Jackie Francis narrowly missed out on making it a fantastic double when she lost in the final to Jean Forde.
