In the Four Oaks and District League Midland Red, after an upset last week losing to Boldmere Sports, quickly returned to winning ways with a 7-2 win at Hill Social to keep them well on course to win the division one title. They now have a total of 24 points from 13 games, two ahead of Boldmere Sports with a game in hand. Boldmere were also 7-2 winners in their away tie with Red Lion Flights.

In the second division with only one fixture remaining leaders Anvil Nomads, despite losing their home game against an in form Oscott Social by 5-4 , have clinched the title, they have a two points lead an a superior average over their rivals.

L.Harris (Midland Red), E.Atkins (Old Oscott Arrows) and R.George (Aston Social) all managed a 180 this week.

Reigning champion Trevor Frost continues to lead the field in the Brook Meadow Individual Double Top League after a 3-0 win over Paul Sunner and despite following that with a 2-1 defeat to his nearest rival Jason Evans who is now three points adrift of Frost. In his other game against Dean McCauley, Evans also had a 3-0 win. Ross Macken did not play this week and as a result has dropped down the table to sixth position, however he now has two games in hand and 3-0 wins in those games would put him in pole position, two points ahead of Frost.

With only eight points separating the top six players it is going to be a very interesting second half to the season.

It’s close at the top of the Premier Division in the Sheldon and District Winter League with three teams Saltley Amateur Gardeners, Olton RBL and Shard End RBL ’B’ all level on 26 points, Shard End however have played one game more than their rivals. Both Saltley and Olton recorded 7-2 wins in their latest respective outings against Shard En Social and Shirley RBL, while Shard End RBL ’B’ beat Stechford Social 7-2.

A close 5-4 away win against Lea Hall Sports and Social places Iron Horse in the number one spot in division one, they now have a two points advantage over RAFA who lost 5-4 at Yardley Ex Flights. The top two teams in division two Kingshurst Labour Club and Willclare Sports and Social both won, the former had a 5-4 win Highwood to give them a four points lead over Willclare who won 6-3 at the Barley Mow. Willclare could close the gap to two points if they win their game in hand.

With 111 points from 15 games Tamworth Winning Post are the current leaders in the Warwickshire Men’s Super League. Second placed Leamington have played one game fewer than Tamworth and a win in that game would see them take over the top spot.

There was a battle royal in the Small Heath League has leaders and reigning champions Mitre played hosts to the second team in the table Emerald Club. The result was a close 5-4 verdict but a huge win for Emerald Club who still trail Mitre by a massive six points.

Custard House also kept in touch with the title race by beating Potcheen Still 8-1 and are now level on points with Emerald Club and are third due to an inferior average.
