There were league and cup games for the Four Oaks and District League this week with division one playing their normal fixtures and division two the second division cup.
In the league Midland Red continue to lead the race in the first division their latest 6-3 win at Boot Flights giving them a total points of fourteen, four more than the rest of the field. The Sportsmans Rest revival also continues as they chalked up a very convincing 8-1 victory over bottom of the table Old Oscott Arrows. Maximums were hit by R.Hawker (Midland Red) and M.Cooper (Red Lion Flights).
The division two cup saw Anvil Nomads and Oscott Social both record 5-2 away wins over respective opponents Old Oscott WMC and Pint Pot. Joining them in the hat for the next round are Cross Keys PPA and Cross Keys who in turn defeated Aston Social and Red Lion Arrows 4-3.

After completing two fixtures in the Harborne and District Winter League only three teams are able to boast a 100% record in division one. Avenue Social ’B’ with an 8- 1home win over Bartley Green F.C. are currently holding pole position on average from both the Pheasant and Smethwick Labour Club, Pheasant also winning 8-1 in their tie at Quinton Members Club, while Smethwick had a close 5-4 verdict as hosts to Stonehouse.
A similar situation exists in division two with Woodpecker beating Quinton Members Club Flights 8-1 to take over the number one spot, a 5-4 home win against New Inns places Hillyfields second and Pheasant Flights are third with a 6-3 win at home over Avenue Social ’A’, all top three teams are undefeated. G.Corbett (Woodpecker) notched a 180.

Mitre, reigning champions in the Small Heath League march on in their bid to retain the title, their latest fixture seeing them crushing bottom team the Victoria as they handed them a 9-0 whitewash. There was a shock for Emerald Club as they lost 5-4 at the Wagon and Horse, however, they and Victoria 301 Club are both just two points behind the leaders, 301Club winning 5-4 against Custard House.

The top two teams in division one of the Pip Club League, Glascote Club and Queens Head both recorded 5-3 wins this week, Glascote won at Tamworth Sports Centre, while Queens Head accommodated Three Horse Shoes. Both teams have accumulated 12 points from their 13 fixtures with third placed Dolphin having played one game fewer and have a total of 14 points after a 4-4 draw at home to Globe Inn.
In the second division Wiggy 180 remain at the top of the pile holding on to their four point’s advantage following a 5-3 win against Winning Post. Second in the table Boot Inn also won by 5-3 as they hosted Royal Oak (Kingsbury).
Congratulations go to bottom of the table Red Lion ’B’ who took on their nearest rivals Red Lion (Polesworth) and with a 5-3 result registered their first win in eleven games this season.
