Deer’s Leap recorded their first win of the season and also their first since gaining promotion to division one of the Four Oaks and District League when they won 5-4 at home to Red Lion Flights this week. The win has lifted them off the foot of the table above bottom placed Old Oscott Arrows and reigning champions Sportsmans Rest who have lost their opening two fixtures against Boot Flights and this week Hill Social who beat them 7-2. Boldmere Sports maintained their 100% record with a 6-3 home win over Boot Flights to hold on to pole position now having a two points lead over Hill Social, Midland Red and Boot Flights, however, Midland Red have a game in hand. Two teams seeking their first win, Hardy Spicer and Old Oscott Arrows met on the Spicer’s board and it was the hosts who grabbed the very close 5-4 verdict with a win in the last leg of the final game.

In the second division Anvil Nomads lead the field after handing out Cross Keys PPA their first defeat, Nomads winning 6-3.Nomads, on six points are level with Cross Keys, who beat Red Lion Arrows 6-3 and are just one leg of average behind the leaders.

A 5-4 home win over Shard End RBL ‘B’ has made Brook Meadow the early pacesetters in the premier division of the Sheldon and District Winter League. Shirley RBL are on the same six points as Brook Meadow following a similar 5-4 success in their home game against Mackadown Social, but they are one leg adrift of the leaders and are currently in second place.

In division one two teams suffered their first defeat of the campaign, Pavilions, who lost 5-4 at Yardley Ex Colts and Lea Hall Sports and Social who were on the wrong end of an 8-1 thrashing at Sheldon Heath Social, Sheldon’s first win in three games. Vaughans also registered their first win when they won their home tie with Malt Shovel 5-4. Hobs Meadow head the table on six points with Hen and Chickens hot on their heels, just two legs behind them.

Willclare Social are clear leaders at the top of division two, a 6-3 home win over Old Bill and Bull extending their winning record to three games. Kingshurst Labour are second, they won 5-4 against Millhouse, but are now two points adrift of Willclare.

Leaders Victoria 301 Club made it three wins in as many games when they beat local rivals the Victoria 8-1. Reigning champions Mitre, after a shaky start to the season have now got their act together and an 8-1 home win over Emerald Club has taken them into second place two points behind the leaders. Potcheen Still got off the mark in the Small Heath League when they beat Custard House 7-2.

Ross Macken holds onto the number one spot in the Brook Meadow Individual League following his 4-0 win over Jason Evans, 3-1 success against Matthew Gallett and a 2-2 draw with his nearest rival Trevor Frost, giving him a total of 115 points from 24 games. Frost meanwhile, with two games in hand on Macken has reduced the gap between them to only four points after 4-0 wins against Dean McCauley and Jake Smith. In the game against McCauley Frost had scores of 180, 2×140, 125 and 6×100.
