Trevor Frost and Ross Macken are locked together on 89 points at the top of the Brook Meadow Individual League however Macken has played 19 games two more than Frost. In the latest round of fixtures Macken took full advantage of Frost not playing and handed out 4-0 whitewashes to both Terry Blakemore and John Masefield.

Jason Evans consolidated his third place with a 4-0 win over Dean McCauley but was held to a 2-2 draw by Gordon Clinton giving him a total of 81 points, seven fewer than the leading pair and having played 20 games.

On the league front in the Sheldon and District Summer League Bromford Bridge Members Club suffered a setback to their group one title aspirations when they went down 5-3 at Olton RBL. As a result Bromford have dropped to third place and Olton have taken over the number two spot. Saltley Amateur Gardeners continue to lead the field with a 6-2 away win at Brook Meadow and have a total of 19 points, seven more than the rest of the field.

In group two Banbury Club could only manage a 4-4 draw in their home tie with Hen and Chickens and have dropped to second place, Castle Vale Residents Association have moved into pole position after their 5-3 win at Sheldon Dukes, they are level on points with Banbury with a slightly better average.

Group five leaders Sheldon Social lost their 100% win record after eight matches going down to their nearest rivals Farringdon Flights 6-2, but Sheldon still have a four points lead on their rivals.

Saltley Amateur Gardeners are the new champions of the Mrs F.Richman Trophy, after beating Pavilions 7-0 in the semi final they claimed the crown with a 5-2 verdict in the final against Brook Meadow. Yardley Ex Colts were the other losing semi finalists. The player of the final award went to Saltley’s A.Caddick.

The Four Oaks and District League kicked off their new campaign with the preliminary rounds of their Brian Goodman Cup and Coronation Shield. In the Brian Goodman Cup Hardy Spicer lost 5-4 to Red Lion Arrows, while Midland Red had a 6-3 win against Boldmere Sports, a game which saw a 160 break from T.Lewis (Midland Red) and nine darts games from B.Linnecor and I.Scattergood, Midland Red and P.Newman Boldmere Sports.

The Coronation Shield saw the first maximum of the season hit by C.Whitehouse (Old Oscott Arrows) whose side beat Oscott Social 8-7. In the other fixture Sportsmans Rest had a comfortable 10-5 victory at Aston Social.

After the first four fixtures have been played in the Warwickshire men’s super league Tamworth Winning Post are top of the table on 32 points, five more than second placed Leamington. Birmingham Midland Red are currently third on 23 points but they do have the advantage of a game in hand on the leading pair.

High flying Wiggy 180 continue to impress at the top of division two of the Pip Club League. In the latest round of fixtures they played hosts to unbeaten Royal Oak (Kingsbury), the result a 5-3 win for Wiggy 180 to maintain their 100%win record and give them a maximum eight points. Red Lion (Polesworth) are second but they could only draw 4-4 at home to Wigginton and now have six points, two less than the leaders but have played one game more.
