Warwickshire’s latest premier division encounter in the Kaliber BDO Inter Counties Championships was a home tie against Lancashire. The result was a 24-15 win for the visitors and Warwickshire’s sixth defeat in eight games, leaving their survival in the premier division in real jeopardy as there is now only one more fixture to play this season, an away game against Glamorgan, which will not be an easy task.
The weekend began with the ladies ‘B’, Caroline Pike (17.21) their only winner in a 5-1 reversal. The men’s ’B’ also suffered a defeat, 8-4 with Prakash Jiwa their top player with a very worthy 30.67 average.
Sunday’s results were a little better with the ladies winning 4-2, Trina Gulliver making it five lady of the match awards in a row with her 25.91 average per dart. The men recorded their first 6-6 draw of the campaign, Dave Harris claiming the match award with Warwickshire’s best average of the fixture 30.75.

Trevor Frost has opened up a three points lead at the top of the Brook Meadow Individual League following his 2-1 success over former leader Jason Evans and 3-0 win against Jon Miley. Frost did then suffer a 2-1 defeat at the hands of middle of the table Keith Kelly, but as his nearest rival and reigning champion Ian McFarlane lost 2-1 to Mark Birch the damage was limited.
Maximums were in abundance this week with the tie between Mark Elkin and Colin Farrington containing two, one for each player and there was also one each for Keith Kelly, John Burdett, Brendan Lysaght, Ian McFarlane, Carl Winters and Terry Blakemore.

Cup finals were the order of the day in the Four Oaks and District League. First the Chairman’s Pairs which saw the Sportsmans Rest provide both teams. With a straight 2-0 result it was A.Stainfield and P.Cummings who got the better of team mates A.Whitehouse and T.Kelly.
The Brian Goodman Cup final was battled out between Boot Flights and Red Lion Flights. the close 5-4 verdict went in favour of Red Lion. Sportsmans Rest added to their ever increasing trophy list with a convincing 8-1 win over Barn Social in the Ken Rust Cup final. Sportsmans T.Kelly, A.Whitehouse and J.Morris teamed up in the final of the Ian Cooper Memorial Cup in which Kelly turned in a magnificent performance hitting 2×100, 140, 2×180 and a 117 game shot to help his side to a 2-1 win over Boot Flights trio M.Norton, C.Millward and D.Jarvis jnr.
One rearranged league fixture played in division two where Deer’s Leap confirmed themselves as champions with a 6-3 win at the Plough to just get the edge on Red Lion Flights, who finished as runners up.

P.Hughes had a 160 break as his team Harborne Stores strolled to a 7-2 victory over Bartley Green Social Club, while a maximum from A.Powell (George) was to no avail as his side lost 6-3 to division one leaders Smethwick Labour Club.
In division two, M.Pickering of the Pheasant, was another player to register a 160 break in a 5-4 win at Avenue Social. G.Wilkes (Hillyfields) recorded an eight darts game in a 6-3 reversal against top of the table Stonehouse.
Quinton Members Club Flights had a good 5-4 success in their fixture at New Inns.

It was a case of top playing bottom in division one of the Pip Club League this week. The result was something of a surprise as Tamworth Snooker Centre, at the foot of the table held the Globe to a 4-4 draw. With Dolphin winning 6-2 at Three Horse Shoes Globe have now dropped into second place.
In the second division Two Gates Club reduced the arrears on leaders Glascote Club to two points as they won 5-3 against Royal Oak (Kingsbury) and Glascote were held to a home draw by the Winning Post.

Tribe remain unbeaten in the G.U.L.P. Charity League after a 5-2 away win against the Lions, Bromford hold on to second place with a convincing 6-1 win at home to the Devils, but remain two points adrift of Tribe.
