In division one of the Harborne and District 401 Summer League the leading duo, Smethwick Labour Club and Midland Red both chalked up 9-0 whitewashes. Smethwick Labour played away to the Cock Inn, while the Red’s travelled to Quinton Members Club. With only three fixtures remaining the two teams are now level on points with Smethwick Labour Club just holding on to pole position with a superior four legs of average. Top shot for the Labour Club was provided by P.Hadley, who hit a maximum, while P.Brotherton recorded a 160 break for Midland Red.

A 7-2 win at the Old Mill keeps the George level on points with the top two teams, however, they trail the leaders by eighteen legs of average and Midland Red by fourteen and barring something of an absolute disaster the title looks all set to go to one of the top two teams. A.Powell hit a 180 got the George.

In the second division T.Byrne was in sparkling form for leaders Harborne Stores. Byrne had scores of 180, 100 and registered an eleven darts leg in their 7-2 home win over the Pheasant. The win leaves the Stores now requiring just one more victory to clinch the title and promotion. Second placed Raven had a 6-3 away win against the Stonehouse. J.Hykin hit a maximum for Quinborne as they defeated Bartley Green Social Club by the narrowest of margins, 5-4.
