As the Harborne and District League kicks-off the second half of its season, Northfield Conservative Club are leading the way with thirty points from their sixteen games after adding on their latest convincing 8-1 win at Harborne Social to keep them two points to the good on second placed Copper Fox ‘R’ who despite being two points adrift of the leaders have a game in hand and a far superior average. Third and fourth in the league table Northfield Darts Club and Smethwick Cricket Club are both on twenty-six points, the former having played one game fewer than Northfield Conservative Club while the latter have played the same number of games after adding their latest result, a 7-2 home win over Cock Inn.

The league saw no fewer than eight maximums scored thios week from seven players, Northfield Conservative Club’s D.Hill hitting two. The other six were supplied by A.Beagrie (Thimble Mill), C.Fowler and A.Faulkner (Copper Fox ‘M’), S.Hopkins (Windsor Complex), D.Latham (Lion Bar) and P.Sitshebo (Harborne Social).

Northfield Darts Club, leaders of the division one table in the South West Birmingham Clubs League, had a 6-2 home win this week over Perfection to keep them top of the table with nineteen points, while Stirchley United, who were second, lost their home tie with Northfield Conservative Club ‘B’ 6-2 and dropped one place in the table to third with one point fewer than their opponents who take over from them in the number two spot, six points adrift of the leaders. However Stirchleu, do have two games in hand on Northfield Darts Club and one in hand on Northfield Conservative Club ‘B’.

Northfield Darts Club also top the division one pre-match doubles table with 121 points, eight more than their nearest rivals Kings Norton Ex Serviceman’s Club, who have played two games fewer than the leaders.

A 6-2 win at Kings Norton Arrows keeps West Heath CEM top of the division two table with eighteen points from eleven games, they have a lead of two points plus a game in hand on second placed E57 who were somewhat surprisingly held to a 4-4 draw by their hosts, next to bottom of the table Longbridge Arrows.

Northfield Conservative Club ‘A’ top the division two pre-match doubles table with 104 and have a huge thirteen points advantage over second placed West Heath CEM who do have played one game fewer than the top side.

With another six games to play, Highcroft Hotdogs have a four points lead at the top of the division one table in the Sutton and District League. The Hotdogs suffered a shock 6-3 defeat in their most recent fixture, an away game against Old Oscott Arrows who are in a mid-table position, ten points behind their opponents. Second placed Nomads @ Hollyfields had no such problem as they swept away the challenge of their host’s Rosey Mac’s, beating them 8-1, while third placed Old Horns Lions had a 5-4 home win over Heartlands to put them on the same twenty-four points as Nomads @ Hollyfields and also fourth in the table Bishop Vesey who won their home game with Walmley CSC Flights 8-1. Charley’s Flights went down 7-2 at home to Erdington Arrows but their R.Stevens recorded up a 160 break.

Division two leaders, Rise Club, remain the only team in the league with a 100% win record, they made it sixteen straight wins when they won their home tie with Misfits @ Holly Lane Sports and Social Club 7-2 to keep them seven points ahead of second placed Plough and Arrows who won 6-3 at Hollyfields. Third and fourth in the division, Great Barr Social and Pint Pot Flights have both played one game fewer than the top two teams and are just one points worse-off then Plough and Arrows.

Sutton Sports had a 5-4 win at Deer’s Leap with S.Billing notching a maximum for the winners.

3-0 defeats to both Steve Cain and Martin Cooper have cost John Frost the leadership of the Heartlands Sugardarts M&E Co Double Top League as he slides down the table to fifth with fifty-seven points from twenty-seven games. Taking over in pole position is Matthew Cain, his 3-0 wins over Matt Richmond and John Burdett giving him a total of sixty-two points from only twenty-four games. Second and third placed Ryan Cain and Steve Cain are both on sixty-one points, Ryan having played twenty-six games and Steve twenty-four. Ryan had 2-1 wins over both Stuart Bloomer and Roxy Bennett while Steve won 3-0 against John Frost and 2-1 against Roxy Bennett.

Just the one solitary maximum this week and that was provided by John Yates in his 2-1 win over Sue John.

The Netherton Thursday Night 501 League played their doubles knockout down to the last eight pairs at eight different venues. Winning through from Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club were, Dave Edwards and Simon Bloomer (Rose and Crown Wordsley) and at Plough and Harrow, Gary Male and Adam Hopwood (Plough and Harrow. The winners at Rose and Crown, Wordsley were, Gavin Smith and Gavin Moreton (Old Liberal Club) and making their way into the next round from Netherton Sports and Social Club were, Mark Rollinson and Phil Tonks (Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’).  Phil O’Brien and Colin Bowen (Bulls Head) won at Townsend Social Club while Bobby Carr and Taine Rollinson (Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’) won at Rose and Crown, Halesowen. Moving into the last eight from Gate Hangs Well were Old Liberal Club pairing Neil Murphy and Neil Cooper and joing them in finals night on the 22nd October, will be Jamie Rollinson and Jake Robinson (Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club ‘A’) after winning at Old Liberal Club.

Week number nine in the Stourbridge and District Monday Night League, saw leaders Cross have a bye, and as a result they have lost pole position and drop to second place behind new leaders Old Liberal Club whose 7-0 home win over High Acres saw them make it nine straight wins. Cross are on an umbeaten sixteen points, the same amount as third and fourth placed Bird in Hand and Swan, but they have both played nine games. Bird in Hand’s latest fixture saw them have a narrows 4-3 victory at Hinksford Arms while Swan won their home tie with Fox Inn (Lye) 6-1. Netherton Conservative Club ‘B’, like the league leaders, handed out a 7-0 whitewash to their opponents Ashwood with T.Aston recording a 160 break for the home side and winners.

Bell, took their undefeated league form in division one of the Rowley Monday Night League into the League Cup when they won 5-0 at Snooks with R.McCarthy hitting a maximum for the winners. Biggest winners of the round were Bostin Darts ‘B’ who handed out a 9-0 whitewash to their visitors Hasbury, T.Bentley finding the three treble twenties for the hosts. Joining Bell and Bostin Darts ‘B’ in the next round will be Romsley Cricket Club and Gate Hangs Well who in turn won 5-1 and 7-2 against Loyal Lodge and Bostin Darts ‘A’.

In the league’s Plate Knockout, Double Tops Micro Bar, with a 180 from J.Moore handed their opponents, Huntingtree, a 9-0 whitewash. Rowley Labour Club were 7-2 winners against Star Valley and Wonder won 5-1 at Spring Meadow. Also progressing to the next round were Coombs Wood who won their home game against Waterfall 5-4.

The most recent round of fixtures saw Quarry Bank Liberal Club win 6-3 at Jolly Crispin and Red Cow ‘1’ go one better with a 7-2 home win over Hilly House. The title is now surely going to one of these two teams as third placed Gornal British Legion are a further six points behind Red Cow ‘1’ on fifty-two points.

There is no change in league positions in the Black Country Ladies Team Super League after completiung game twenty-three fixtures, Allen’s Bar ‘B’ remaing top of the table with seventy-two points after suffering a 4-1 defeat at the hands of the Allen’s Bar ‘C’ team. Allen’s Bar ‘A’ hold on to second place with a 3-2 win over their bottom of the table ‘D’ side, leaving them five points short of their ‘B’ team.

In the Black Country Men’s Super League, Allen’s Bar ‘A’ had a narrow 3-2 win at home over next to bottom of the table Ten Arches, neverthless they remain top of the table with 118 points from thirty-three games. Second in the league, Quarry Bank Liberal Club have played thirty-two games, their latest seeing them also win 3-2 against Northfield Darts Club to put them on 108 points. Just one point behind the Liberal Club is Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club whose 3-2 home win over High Acres was their thirty-first fixture.

Staffordshire Knot held on to their top spot in the West Midlands Men’s Super League table with a 4-1 home win over Samba Social Club, their sixty-two points, four more than Kings Head, who have taken over from Dog and Partridge in second place following their 5-0 home win over Landywood and Dog and Partridge’s 3-2 defeat at Chase Social. Dog and Partridge are on fifty-six points, two behind Kings Head and nine ahead of fourth and fifth placed Junction ‘a’ and Dudley Ex Serviceman’s Club who are both on forty-seven points.

The top two players in the Amblecote RBL Premier League hold on to their places, Jason Lowe adding a 7-0 win over Sam Page to keep him top-of-the-pile with 168 points with Ian Townsend second on 144 points from the same twenty-three games, his latest seeing him lose 5-2 to Spike Green then win 7-0 against Mark Hopkins. Nick Fullwell beat Tom Hanson and Matt Davies 6-1 before winning 7-0 against Daz Hand to leave him third in the league with 135 points with two games in hand on both Lowe and Townsend.

Although Simon Pritchard lost 5-3 to Olly Garratt, he remains top of division one in the Gilbert’s Bar Monday Night Singles League with ninety-two points from fourteen games, however second placed Chris Manoila beat Mark Daniels 7-1 to give him a total of eighty-six points from only twelve games.

Wayne Barratt tops division two, his 8-0 win over Alfie Warrneder taking his points tally to ninety-six from fourteen games. Second placed Neville Quinton has only played twelve games and is eight short of Barratt after he was held to a 4-4 draw by Dave Akers.

No change in the top six places in the singles league of the Wolverhampton Tuesday Night League, Junction ‘B’ holding on to the top spot with a 4-3 home win over Gilbert’s Bar ‘B’, the win seeing Junction ‘B’ six points to the good on second placed Dog and Partridge ‘B’ after they won 4-3 at Red Lion.

Only two points separate the top four teams in the doubles league, Junction ‘B’ are top with forty-eight points, they have an average lead on second and third placed Gilbert’s Bar ‘B’ and Golden Lion ‘A’ with fourth placed New Gate Inn on forty-six points, just two shy of the three teams above them.
