Warwickshire County Darts Organisation’s fifth fixture in the premier division of the UKDA National League was an away game against Suffolk at the Kesgrave Social Club, Edmonton Rd, Kesgrave, Ipswich, Suffolk. IP5 1EE, their hosts going into the game lying second in the division with 107 points and Warwickshire eighth on seventy-eight points but having played one game fewer than Suffolk.
Saturday’s games saw the ladies ‘B’ finish all-square at 3-3 with Kacie O’Connor taking the match award for her 3-1 win over Jean Prewitt and 18.73 average. The men’s ‘B’ chalked up a 7-5 win with William Naylor their top player beating Andrew Craine 4-3 and averaging 26.63.
Going into Sunday’s ‘A’ games, Warwickshire were holding a 10-8 lead and taking that lead to 14-10 were the ladies ‘A’ with their 4-2 victory. Lady of the match for the ‘A’ ladies was Macy Gibbons who had a top average of 23.86 in her straight 3-0 win over Ruby Grey. For the men’s ‘A’ it was a weekend to forget as they slumped to a huge 10-2 defeat with only Wayne Mynard and Noel Grant winning, Grant taking the man of the match award for his 4-1 win against Ben Poulton and 28.98 average.
The overall result for the weekend was a 20-16 win for Suffolk who remain second in the division with 130 points, eighteen short of leaders Lancashire and Warwickshire, despite the defeat move up one place to seventh with ninety-four points and a game in hand on four of the six teams above them.
